General (General discussion, talk about anything.)
A big part of the problem is that some nationalities identify themselves by their religion. i.e. their religion dictates their whole life, who they marry, who they associate with, where they are educated, whether they drink alcohol, have more than one wife.
You can then be any nationality but your religion is your driving force in life. And it doesn't matter what nationality you are or if you are a citizen of whatever country your TRUE loyalty lies with your religion first and foremost. A And especially if you are a woman and live in a patriarchal society where you have to ask permission of your father to marry then it becomes almost impossible to rebel. If you are told that you besmirch the family honour by going against certain traditions what can they do? And so it goes on.
In most western countries women have gone forward in leaps and bounds but in some religions women are restricted in so many ways it is going back to how things were hundreds of years ago. Is that what we want??
