Why don't we have a quiz on here?
Am sure it would be popular.

What's the point of doing a quiz when all that people will do is google the answers

Posted by: firefox (1492) Report abuse
Good point, peter. But you are only cheaiting yourself if you do that. No one else would take you seriously. I certainly wouldn't.

“What's the point of doing a quiz when all that people will do is google the answers”

When I do the quiz over on Wigan Peers, I type ‘NSG!!!!!!!!!’, this stands for NO SODDIN’ GOOGLING!!!!!!!!
Obviously it doesn’t stop people Googling, but it is a reminder.

"Sorry not caught up yet but what's Wigan Peers"

Wigan Peers is another local website for Wiganers.
It;s run by Forumotion who run Wigan Rejects, so the format and web pages are very familiar, and very user friendly too.
Give it a Google i-spy

A tad boring but...
What is the next letter in this sequence

E I S

the answer is H

… but why ?

Posted by: Reditus (287) Report abuse
Can't think, but is it along the lines of O T T F, One Two Three Four, etc?

Posted by: cordyline (5350)   Report abuse
No, it's morse code
.
..

….

Posted by: raymyjamie (6257) Report abuse
"No, it's morse code"

E = one dot
I = two dots
S = three dots
H = four dots

Don't think I would've got that one Cordy, thanks for the explanation

Do you recall 'Round Britain Quiz' that they used to do on Radio 4? (Possibly still: I no longer tune in so not familiar with current state.)

Irene Thomas was their star performer.

They worked as a team, with feedback from the questioner to help them home in on the right track.

This was one of my favourites. ( I have posted it in the past)

Mayhem in Manchester.

Terminal in London.

The German, looking through the glass, will really hot things up.

What do you make of that?

Here is another very boring, very difficult one

What is this number sequence ?

4
6
7
9
10
11
12
14
15

And so on

Posted by: raymyjamie (6257) Report abuse
4 + 2 = 6
6 + 1 = 7
7 + 2 - 9
9 + 1 = 10
10 + 1 = 11
11 + 1 = 12
12 + 2 = 14
14 + 1 = 15
15

Maybe it goes add 2, add 1, add 2, add 1, add 1, add 1, add 1, add 2, add 1., add 2, add 1 ………etc.

I'm still working on 'Mayhem in Mancester', it's doing my head in !!!!!! LOL.

Not sure if they are straight forward questions or cryptic definitions.

Ray, If you recall 'Round Britain Quiz', there is an emergent theme to be found. Question master usually responded providing feedback and clues, at the expense of how many points a correct answer would obtain.

Big Clue: 'Lose could be a winning strategy.'

Priscus, only just seen your post.
Thursday is a busy day pour moi, I go to a cardiac class in the morning and then take Mrs RMJ into Bolton and back twice.
Fibonacci sequence was my first thought, but I think the rule is add the first two numbers to create the third, that doesn’t seem to apply here.

I think the sequence is this:-

Add the first and second numbers together, then subtract the number 1 to give the fourth number.
Then add the second and third numbers and suctract the number 3 to give the fifth number.
Then subtract increasing odd numbers to give the sequence.
I may be wrong of course.

"Big Clue: 'Lose could be a winning strategy"

Not certain what that means!!!!! LOL

I hope that I am not following suit with you there.

I had to go for an ECG on Wednesday.

Whilst attending the Podiatrist, he was listening to the pulse in my feet, and once every 20 seconds or so, the expected sound of a pulse was absent!

I still await to learn what this means for me.

Priscus, fingers crossed that it’s something and nothing.
