Some Am-Dram is very good.

The eve of my leaving Manchester, I went to see a performance by Stockport Players at The Garrick, of 'Accidental Death of an Anarchist'.

It must have been good for me to have remembered it over so many decades.

Saw a brilliant interpretation of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' in mid 1980's at Theatre Royal, Lincoln, by Hinge and Bracket, which some of you may recall from their Radio 4 days.

Unfortunately not on Youtube. Bit too early for World Wide Web, which only around the following decade. Not to be seen again following demise of Patrick Fyffe, sadly.

'The Importance of Being Earnest' was first thing I saw on stage, when we had a school outing to a performance. I had thought we went to Liverpool Everyman, but not possible as it was before Everyman's time. (According to Wiki, it only opened 1964)

Should recruit Theresa May. She was able to act as if she were competent for almost a year before people sussed her!

Refreshments will be available.

2pm for plays, poetry and prose and themed nights are usually 7.30pm to be confirmed

We hope our members, friends and patrons will join us so keep your eye on the web site/facebook and for posters for updates.
