Craft Board For Crafters.

Started by: moodysue (inactive)

WR has a craft board for all crafters so If your interested in crafts you know where it is.

Maybe WW could make a board just for crafts and crafters, we could share knowledge. How about it WW?

Perhaps the Hobbies/Books board could become Crafts/Hobbies/Books, Sue? There's plenty of room here for discussions.

I've just read of this event - tonight - which might be of interest to crafters:

The Old Courts – Open Evening (http://www.wiganeventsguide.com)

Tonight - 12th June @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Old Courts, Crawford Street, Wigan, WN1 1NG

"As some of you already know we are involved with opening a new creative arts and enterprise hub in Wigan Town Centre at the old court buildings on Crawford Street (hence the name The Old Courts).

We have been a community interest company for 5 years and that means that any profits get put back in to the community. The centre will cater for everyone with creative arts and enterprise interests.

There’s lots of work to be done but we want you all to see what we’ve been up to for the past few months so we’re holding an open evening/ shopping event!

So pop down, have a look around and enjoy the live music and DJ. It’s a free event and everybody is welcome! There’ll be lots of fab stalls ranging from jewellery to arts and craft.

Lots of offers behind the bar and all proceeds raised on the evening through the bar sales will be put back into the community.
"

* Twiddle Muffs for Dementia - Making Day, 23rd August 2014, 11am - 4pm link *

At The Gingerbread Bunny's Studio in Nooch, First Floor, 21 Hallgate, Wigan WN1 1LR

Twiddle muffs are designed to help stimulate the minds of people with dementia whilst also being reassuring and comforting.

Join us for the day, or just an hour, we aim to make as many as we can for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust.

The base is knitted or crocheted with extra bits, buttons, beads and ribbons stitched on - so there's something for everyone to do! If you can't make the day, then feel free to make a muff at home and post it (message Sarah for the address).

Donations of yarn, buttons, beads and ribbons are most welcome and can be dropped off at the studio in Nooch or posted.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided to keep everyone going.

'Yarnbombing! I love it and, as the poster below tells you, you could get involved in some! The best bit is that, after the event, all the items made will be being donated to local Wigan homeless charity, The Brick, to be used as blankets, scarves and decorations for their Christmas lunch. It's a great opportunity to get involved in some 'public art' and to help others at the same time. There are a couple of events coming up in Wigan too so keep your eyes peeled.'
