Eon

Just received an e-mail of Eon to say my present contract will run out in January for gas/elect change contract now On going to my account was adviced to up my present payement by £2 due to extra usage. Looked on my present tariff and I should be paying £1-15 more than what I am paying but if I take out a new contract then they estimate I would need to pay £1-50 less than I am paying nowWe know there are all sorts of equations to bills =standing charge, price per unit used etc but they dont help by showing different tariffs for the same contract.

That's cheap ( retep1949 / SSE) for very low users, but what you save on the standing charge they take on the electric unit price.
For an average usage of 5000 KWh a year, you'd save over £50 with Bulb!

I'm changing to Bulb, for lecky, from British Gas. We use loads!

(I had to edit due to Dougie buttin' in! )

I was with Scottish Power and was being charged £165 a month for gas and electricity, most of it being on electricity because my central heating gas boiler was condemned in 2013, so only use gas for cooking now, which uses at most £15 a month.

I use two electric heaters in my living room when it's really cold to keep warm and an electric heater in my kitchen and I boil a kettle for washing up, cleaning surfaces, etc; electricity for washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer, shower etc. The rest of the house is like living in an igloo, but I've adapted as I've no need to heat rooms I don't use. My bed attire is now what may be called passion killers, but I don't care anymore, as long as I'm warm.

My brother put me on to BULB, and I now pay just £92 for gas and electricity a month which, for me, is excellent.

A few years ago someone suggested that I apply for a Warm Home summat or other and I did but, because I've never drawn benefits and only ever worked, I wasn't entitled, despite my age. Ah well.

I’m bloody rotten well sick and fed up with ‘em. Today, the phone hasn’t stopped ringing with people giving it the sales chatter. It’s because I filled in the questionaire on ‘Money Supermarket’ and they’ve all got my details !

Anyone looked at Zebra Gas/Electric yet they have just sent me notification by E-mail they can reduce it by £97 if I take out a new contract (do they think im daft or what) as I must have been paying to much in the first place at £56.46 a month to be over payed by £100+, all they will do knock the payments down by £8+ then increase the unit cost on a new contract for both G/E, as they know in May 2021 they will have to pay all credit back into my bank

PS just recalculated my G/E now only a saving of £79

Bulb is relatively cheap. 13.43p per kwh and 20.44p a day std.ch..

On them Eon prices, compared with Bulb and using 5000 units a year, you'd save £16.60 a year on standing charges but pay £118 a year more on electric.

BUT .... BEWARE BULB! .... I'm just getting sick to the back teeth of Bulb!

I opted to switch to them, from British Gas, a few weeks ago. Do I regret it? Yes! I've raaaaight been taken in!!

I've been hammered with e-mails - 'join the community', 'congratulations, you're now a 'Bulbero'!, 'confirm your e-mail', 'confirm your password', 'confirm you're a human' (honestly, no shit, I had to click on the squares containing traffic lights!), 'send a meter reading', 'thank you for your meter reading', 'send a meter reading', 'thank you for your meter reading', 'send ANOTHER meter reading', 'We really do need a meter reading', 'check the squares containing a palm tree", 'your password isn't secure enough', etc., etc., etc.!

I'm giving them a month, then I'm switching back.

I've signed up to Look after my Bills after watching Dragons DenNew Energy Service is Saving UK Households £££s Every Year
For decades there were hardly any options as greedy energy suppliers raked in the cash.

Then one company showed up on Dragons’ Den and changed everything...

...Look After My Bills co-founders went into the Den and wowed the Dragons - walking away with the BEST deal in the history of the popular TV show.

Two Dragons - Jenny Campbell and Tej Lalvani - invested £120,000 for just 3% of the company.

The concept of Look After My Bills is simple: you sign up just once, and the service finds you a great deal (and switches you to it) every year. The best part is, Look After My Bills is FREE!

The company has grown to 200,000+ members since the Den and caught the eye of popular price comparison site, GoCompare, who purchased the company in the Summer of 2019.
