Stuart, I was BOTH a Draughtsman and a Design Engineer in my previous life when I had a reason for getting up in a morning.
I worked for 50 years in Engineering, so progressed up the scale.
In the early Eighties the introduction of computer Aided Design (CAD) brought on the demise of the traditional Draughtsman, ie Pencil and drawing board and replaced it with PC based technology.
Later software in the Nineties saw the introduction of Parametric 3D software.
I have "Autocad" software on my PC, and try to keep my hand in.
