OMG, the look on my in-laws faces when I told them, when I was about 9 and 10, that me and my younger brother used to be 'knocker uppers' in our neighbourhood......

Then the look on my parents faces when they were over here for a visit and my F-in L told my B-in -l to get up off his 'Fanny ' and get off to work...

A friend of mine and his wife were on holiday in Florida over from the UK and as they were out walking they passed a guy coming the other way, a Texan with a large hat. As they passed the Texan said "you've got a fine fanny ma'am.
She promptly turned around and slapped him across the face!
The bewildered Texan said "what was that for?"

Some of the expressions and meaning get so mixed up when crossing the Atlantic lol.
