Can be very surprising!
I had just clipped on new blinds for the bathroom window, stepped off the ladder and whooosh...the bath carpet slid beneath my feet and I flew backwards into the bath taking down the shower curtains as I landed.
Did a quick check that I was in one piece, checked the wall tiles that I hadn't cracked one with my head.
Took a selfie pic of me laying in the bath with the curtains wrapped around my shoulders.
Sent it to Mrs britboy who was out shopping, she at least ask the right question, are you alright, then she said "must be you took a photo of yourself" lol

Thought I'd better get checked out with my doc, he says I'll have a bent neck for a week or so...no looking through keyholes for at least a week

My doc said I'd know about it day after and sure enough my neck is very sore and stiff.
I don't bounce back the same as when I was a lad, when my mam used to rub it better
I believe I was very very lucky

I once broke three ribs in a fall from a ladder. Whilst off work, and feeling it was not advisable to drive, I had to negotiate a steep hill to get from home to the shops.
I quickly discovered that I could only ascend said hill by walking backwards.
Found I was having to explain myself to all and sundry, who finding someone walking backwards seemed to leap to the assumption, "We've caught a looney"! A very disturbing experience.
