To think we grew up ( well I did ) with not even having a phone in the house.. we had to walk to the P O to use the one there to make a phone call... Not that we ever did, as no one we knew had a phone either. Then there was the BBC when we got a TV..One station, though I seem to remember there were some good programmes on then..

Nowadays, if we can't instantly get in touch with someone
thousands of miles away, we don't know what to do

That said, I think this past few days I would have been happy to not have Tinernet or TV, it would have been a lot less stressful..

I often joke about using my iPhone as a skip stone and see how many skips I can get out of it on Lake Superior.

As I mentioned some time ago, I very seldom watch tv news, last year I dropped cable tv and just kept the internet connection for our homebase business.
The last time I watch CNN was three or four years ago, the leading story just before Christmas .... "Pamela Anderson to play the Virgin Mary" in a one night play. That stretch my imagination a mite. Lol

I never watch TV news or read the papers any more, I used to , every day, keeping up with what was going in in the world.. But these past few years, it has got so much worse, it is all negative news, because that is all that is happening, it got to be too much and was making me depressed, so I stopped watching...

Re the Election, some of my FB friends were posting dozens a day, nasty nasty posts, I was spending all my time deleting the posts.. Funny thing is, all the nasties, were from Southern Baptist Christian Conservatives.. People I know, living their lives per the Bible, but they were being really nasty..
