Steaming!!
The temperature around the Great Lakes especially on the south coast of Lake Superior is usually quite cool in summer 65-75F....the last few weeks it's been HOT for us .... 85-95F/31-35C.
Not used to this heat and combined with high humidity...80-100% then it becomes miserable ..... Move at all and sweat like a dog.
The US forestry service in on high fire risk alert, need rain asap.
Anyone do a rain dance??

Someone has done the dance here. Wettest July in 90 years and second wettest on record. Nineteen thunderstorms in July as opposed to average of eight. Thankfully we get no high humidity levels.

95F and high humidity is the norm here in the summer.. I have lived in FL 35 years and I still hate this weather.. I stay inside as much as I can I this time of year.. Roll on Nov, hopefully get a cool down..
Do you have AC britboy, I know many people up North don't, not really a need for it most of the time.... Hope things cool down soon for you and that you get the rain you need....

We have a single AC unit at one end of the house and a portable AC unit in the garage, just blow the cool air through the single level bungalow with pedistal fans.
Lake Superior is usually our AC unit when the wind is blowing from the north but this year has been dominated with southern hot winds and thunder storms, now I know how miserable it must be for you in Florida.

I've just been out and noticed the loft fan is running again to vent the loft space, that's set at 85-90F switch on and it has been running quite a bit over the last 4-5 weeks.
Changing climate...maybe. Seems to have warmed up more in summer over the last five years.

Just about everyone I have spoken to, from all parts of the country, are saying how much warmer it is than it used to be.. Something is going on, I'm not smart enough to say what is causing the change, but there is a change,,
Seeing as I hate the heat, I am not happy with this change...

Mrs britboy forgot about turning off the garden sprinkler overnight, worrying this morning with the drowt conditions when I spotted it. We are on pumped well water so it certainly tested our supply of water but all was good.
The flower/veg beds must have thought it was wonderful lol.
