Passport

Started by: britboy (6794)

Received my renewed 10 year passport recently, just did an on line survey and gave passport office a glowing thumbs up.
Just 3 weeks turnaround from the UK

Also noticed that the passport office change their passport design every 5 yrs mostly for security reasons, just missed the new design launch, bummer!!

I am not an illegal alien any more

broady...it's a personal choice...I explain to my USA friends that they have an allegiance to their country and I have an allegiance to mine.
There's only two things I cannot do in the USA ... Vote, that's ok because I can't see anyone I would want to vote for !
There other one is work on military equipment, been there done that, no big deal.
Now...are there any advantages you might ask...I can go straight through customs in the green channel when visiting the U.K. , have to wait for Mrs britboy to clear.
Coming back into the USA again I pass through very easily with uk passport and green card.

Sooooo no problem or a need to change.

I applied for a replacement 10 year 'Jumbo' passport (104 pages) at the Glasgow passport office last Tuesday and it arrived by post at my home on Friday. The staff in the passport were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was easy, almost right outside the door. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

I used to go to the Wrigley Buildings in Chicago to renew my passport but now it seems the application has to go back to the UK.
They are surprisingly efficient for a government entity, seems a lot has changed.
