thanks jazzy,id never heard the medical term till recently ,up to consultant to tell me of any complications having it removed ,it is a benign tumour but in a prominent position .at least it isnt cancerous

Ecmdj, I had a benign tumour on my thyroid, but a different sort than yours, mine was an adenoma.

The surgery wasn't too bad, but it did affect my vocal chords for a short while, and I had to have speech therapy. My voice is quite a lot lower than it used to be.

But I had no ongoing problems with it, everything went fine. It was about 20 years ago and all is still well, though I only have half a thyroid and an interesting scar on my neck

Christine, it must be a relief to have it done.

I had clips in when I had the adenoma removed from my thyroid. My daughters said I looked like the guy in the Highlander movie!

I was worried about having them taken out, but it was completely pain free, a doddle! So don't be worried about that. (In case you were!)

Onwards and upwards for you now my lady.

Best wishes for a very speedy recovery.

jazzy clips out yestereday morning ,district nurse said healing nicely but right side little red an bit open would see her next monday ,then what happens 3-30 am this morning something woke me i felt at back of neck it felt wet ,going further down top wet through when i looked at my hand blood ,the mattress was all bloodied and pillow case ,so i rang for an ambulance ,it came very quick when i explained what i had doe taken to wigan infirmary ,the paramedics putting new dressing on and the towel i had put round me was sodden ,omg where was it all coming from .eventually a doctor came ,they cleaned me up and pkept pressing till blood stopped a new allover my back pressure dressing .i came home at 9-ooam .i had to ring my doctor to check it tomorrow and he had to arrange for district on sat .after all this i can laugh about it now ,not funny at time .if anything they wont have any trouble getting blood out of me .the nurse in charge and doctor were excellent also the paramedics .

Christine, what a frightening experience for you, not funny at all.

I'm glad you got some good and prompt treatment, and your back home.

Now take it easy, no can-can dancing for you for a couple of weeks missus.

Put your feet up and rest.

Take care
Jennifer

I couldn't do the can-can either without something dropping off
