Well done Latics.

Taking the name of Wigan WORLDWIDE!

I went to Dortmund watching City last year, as we approached customs at Dortmund airport on the way back, I showed my passport which said I was born in Wigan. The official said excitedly "Ah, Wigan Athletic!", at which point I smiled not without pride that my home town was now world famous.

But City is still my team. sorry.

having just watched the highlights on motd i have to say latics were very lucky to get 3 points. they created very little to pressure sunderland and got there goals from a very soft penalty and a poor mistake from the home team.
sunderland on the other hand created a lot of goal scoring plays and had about 10 shots on target, so credit where its due latics have a very good keeper and they will need him on that performance. if that is one of there better perfomances i wouldnt like to see one of there poorer ones(just being honest)
everyone was up in arms last week saying how the tics were robbed and teams like man utd get all the referees 50/50 calls. well this week you had lady luck on your side but you wont be gifted 3 points every week.

Mal. In the same way as you seem to think Sunderland should of won yesterday, then yes

Replied: 27th Nov 2011 at 11:53

i don't, simply because the other team scored more goals than latics, thats why sunderland lost yesterday latics scored more goals than them if you go of stats then possibly latics should have won there last few games but you don't

bluesfan no i havnt watched much of latics this year but my post was based on yesterdays performance not the whole season. you can paper over the cracks all you like but my point is if you perform like that week in week out you will be in trouble come april. i will be watching the the game against arsenal next month so will have a better idea then. i can understand you all being elated to get a win at last but it still doesnt hide the fact you struggled to beat a poor sunderland side.

as you said, you haven't seen much of them this season. If you had you would realise that yesterdays performance was not typical, they have been playing much better and losing,so yesterday was a bit of payback in the luck stakes

Replied: 27th Nov 2011 at 13:05
