I do not think it is just the Challenge Cup.I have watched RL and Wigan since the 50's and the game has changed some for the better and a lot for the worse.I no longer get a buzz from the professional game.I no longer go to any games and rarely watch on TV.My wife said it was on TV last weekend and I could not be bothered to switch it on.Things have to change or it wll become a forgotten sport

Us older generation remember when there was a buzz going to games which no longer exists...The younger generation can’t be bothered to get off their x boxes etc.....the game has to change somehow...but I haven’t a clue

RL is dying.

A lingering embarrassing death...

Would getting rid of Sky rescue the game? My opinion is they would lose a valuable source of revenue without which they would go under. If the shortfall can be achieved elsewhere then get shut by all means. RU seems to have lots of sky coverage but their crowds don't seem to suffer. Why is that?

it,s well kown that cable TV has only a fraction of covarage compared to the terrestial channels . so if you want to promote the game surely it,s not on cable TV ? .

Correct but would the terrestrial channels be interested in showing Salford and HKR in sunny Surrey or deepest Devon? If they saw an enterprising project they would be on to it.

it,s just the same no matter who broadcasts it as it,s a northern sport . but it would bring a much wider audience on the main channels .

BUT could they match the Sky monies? Without that money RL drops. No good millions more watching if it brings no cash in.
