Whatever happened to ‘transfer fees’ in RL??

Remember the days we all knew how much teams had bought/sold a player for – for example Wigan bought Offiah from Widnes for £440,000 and Greg from Warrington for £130,00 and sold Hanley for £250,00 to Leeds and Fairbairn to Hull KR for £72,500

when players 'move' today how come a 'fee' is never mentioned? For example how much did Wigan get for Tomkins, Bateman and Sutton last season

Just curious; anyone know – was it ever made public? if not why not?
