I hear he could possibly play on Saturday. It would be good to see him back in action!

He played 40 minutes for the reserves last Saturday afternoon and scored 2 tries.

But, and it is a big but, his tackling was pretty poor and his positional sense was way off.

Methinks that he deserves the chance to shake off the ring rust before being thrust back into the first team.

Phil,
Back in the day he would have had a few games in the A team to get up to match fitness.

Bill,

I suppose that the reserves are the same as the A teams of the past except that very few clubs have them and thus the number of available games is restricted.

This is always a conundrum - how to ease returning players into the first team without actually weakening the team you are actually trying to strengthen.

He'll get his chance now Marshall is injured although Escare did a good job of it in France.

Escare was good wasn't he? good chance for Manfredi though. That's rugby isn't it? There's always a guy waiting to step in and have a chance.
