Ernie Hunt...
Started by: jarvo (28268)  Report abuse
Ernie Hunt, the former Swindon Town, Wolves, Everton and Coventry inside forward, has died at the age of 75.

Ernie became a legend at Molineux and helped Wolves reach the first division in 1966-1967. He was a larger than life character with a deadly shot and feared nobody.

But he will always be remembered for this remarkable goal playing for Coventry...

Ernie...And Willie.

R.I.P. Ernie.

Grimmy: I think they may have done, but I'm not hundred per cent sure.

Maybe Builderboy can enlighten us?

Great goal though.

I remember that goal and trying to copy it at school on the Monday. I think it was banned but not just after that goal. Don't know why it was but it was fantastic entertainment. RIP Ernie.

I remember Ernie scoring a lovely goal at Deepdale in April, 1967. We beat North End 2-1 and virtually clinched promotion.

On the same day, Scotland beat England 3-2 at Wembley, and became 'unofficial' world champions.

Great times in footy.

seen him play at coventry.

It was classed as having two touches and, since you can only touch it once when taking a free kick, it was banned.

Why would it be great times if Scotland beat England 😟😟

Posted by: jarvo (28268)  Report abuse
...Because Scotland had a fine team and deserved it.
