15,000 empty seats at kick off, 50,000 empty seats at the final whistle.

Embarrassing

trophy presentation then?

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
your already history 0years.

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
"your already history 0years."

Whups, If you are referring to City then that is confusing but if you are referring to me (which I assume you are not) then that is a touch sinister.

No problem Whups, maybe I read too much into your post.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
0years it would be more sinister if he said you had no future..

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
your season is now over & old news.history as you call it.

Posted by: chatty (6011)  Report abuse

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
Still CHAMPIONS and will be until someone wins it next season.

Oh, and currently TWENTY points in front of the team who are now in our shadow.

MIND THE TWENTY POINT GAP!

Posted by: roylew (2845) Report abuse
Champions of money...bring on a salary cap

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
Could have done with it when yoonited were buying the Premier League then.

P.S. yoonited currently have both the highest paid transfer fee and highest paid player in the Premier League......and are NINETEEN points behind the CHAMPIONS.

Proof that you can't buy success.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
how many points behind?

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
season over. history.

Posted by: chatty (6011)  Report abuse
Spot on roylew artificial financial doping at it’s worst.
The gap between what City spent and Huddersfield is the biggest between two teams in the top division since football began.

Forget 'Pol Pot’s' snapshot of dearest player and wage, this is what you need to read:

Man Utds net spend Premier League era is £665,660,000, that’s £25,602,308 per season winning 39 honours (this season to date) @ 17 Million per trophy.

Man City’s net spend Premier League era is £1000.450.000, that’s £40,181,808 per season winning 8 honours @ 125 Million per trophy.

Proof that some teams do buy success but they need a sugar daddy who'll pay through the nose to do it.

Posted by: grimshaw (1121)  Report abuse
Chatty .

Excellent .

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
sanchez is the latest player to come through the youth system i hear, trafford have never ever bought a player chatty believes

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
there,s 1 thing for sure sick man that no other team in their history cant match united of having a home grown player on the bench since records began.and how many have city had playing this season ? .

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
thats proved to be wrong whups..

Posted by: Tiger cat (52) Report abuse
Chatty has made some very good points in his post, you can't argue with facts,

Posted by: Tiger cat (52) Report abuse
Whups, no point in city having a youth team as they will not get a chance, they would sooner pay 50 million for a ready made player,

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
absolutely not sick man.your right tiger cat & some of those players iv,e mentioned played l/night.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
tiger how much did pogbad and lookatme cost?

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
not like l/pool players advertising nivia beauty products ? .

Posted by: Diston (118) Report abuse
Not like liverpool players being in champions league final neither.

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
i,m sorry have they won it . i wasnt aware ? .

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
no reply from tiger yet!! laughing at a team paying fifty million for players yet ignoring his for paying 90 and 75 million!! YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT UP...

Posted by: fireplace6899 (inactive) Report abuse
Please start your replies, with a capital letter.

Posted by: Tiger cat (52) Report abuse
LG, why reply, you seem to know everything, my point was about giving youth team players a chance, not how much other players cost,

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
Well, well, well. La Z Boy is once again delving into ancient istree in a vain attempt to back up a rapidly outdated argument without even a passing nod to inflation. His sycophantic nodding dogs led by Grimshaw also need some WD40 on their necks as usual.

Try using your 1992 example (as we know, you used that example because football started with the Premier League) and indexing up the figures, use compounding inflation not simple. On top of that add “football inflation” which is widely believed to be eight x RPI due to SKY T.V. monies.

If my one season example of yoonited’s spectacular excesses and failures isn’t good enough then how about taking another time frame............say, seven years?

Until shortly before that time yoonited were willing and able to buy the league but City had only recently aquired their benefactor so seven years is a more representative time period.

In those seven years yoonited have spent £824.98m whereas City have spent £993.97m, a differential of £168.99m.

Net spend is a smoke screen, and the last bastion of the desperate with a failing argument and a need to deflect from reality. Money recouped from the sale of unwanted players bears no relevance to the money spent on acquiring new players, it is simply an accounting issue which affects the profitability and bottom line of a club, along with FFP which City have passed handsomely.

In those seven years yoonited have won one Premier League title (way back in 2012), one F.A. Cup and one Europa Cup.

City have won THREE Premier League titles, Two League Cups and unlike yoonited have qualified for the Champions League every season and not been out of the top four.

Proof that some teams do buy success but some spend their money more wisely than others.

Posted by: Diston (118) Report abuse
Sanchez and his wages,£6.7million signing on fee,£391.OOO a week and image right fees. supplemented by £75,000 for every match he started.Another£2m for forty goals and assists in a season.A £1m bonus if man u win the champions league. And £500,000 for a prem league win.

Posted by: chatty (6011)  Report abuse
I see Pol Pot's back trying to rewrite history again.
"Let's pretend the league started in 2011"

indexing up the figures, use compounding inflation not simple...
No it isn't, so when you get a bit of time "index us up some compounding figures" and tell us what the £1,437,500 City spent on Steve Daly in 1979 that nearly bankrupted the club would be worth today?

"In those seven years yoonited have won one Premier League title (way back in 2012), one F.A. Cup and one Europa Cup". WRONG WRONG WRONG!
If you are going to attempt to quote facts and figures do have the good grace to do your "research" properly and get it right!
PS. by the way Pol Pot the season hasn't finished for some clubs, so even the stats you're trying to rewrite history with are being given to us "mid term".

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
"Let's pretend the league started in 2011"

I initially spoke about last season which finished a few days ago. It was you who was, (yet again) selective about choosing a date prior to that in order to shore up your "non" argument. You now choose to highlight one City error from YET ANOTHER date in the 1970's to try to shore up your "non" argument. Straw grasping of the highest degree. I see you didn't choose Veron or Di Maria.

As for your naive statement:

"indexing up the figures, use compounding inflation not simple... No it isn't, so when you get a bit of time "index us up some compounding figures"

Showing your ignorance there matey, "compound" and "simple" are individual methods of calculating interest/inflation. As you said to me in your reply: "If you are going to attempt to quote facts and figures do have the good grace to do your "research" properly and get it right!"

No doubt your research comment was with regards to yoonited's trophies and the fact that I missed out a League Cup. Hardly earth shattering. I see you also grasped at the straw of my stating 2012 rather than way back in 2013 for the title. If I were you I wouldn't have shone a light on that one, it's still embarrasing!

As for your final statement I assume that was you clinging to the chance that yoonited might win the "scraps" trophy for also rans, now that IS grasping at straws!

Anyway La Z Boy, I must apologise for leaving it until Tuesday before I successfully riled you by rubbing your nose in it but I spent the weekend in Southampton following my team, you might want to try it some time. After that I watched the Centurions display the Premier League trophy in our home City......Oh the joys of supporting the record breakers.

MIND THE GAP!

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
you should have stayed there.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
0years you also missed out the gigantic charity shield trophy it was tin pot till they won it..

Pol Pot

Pol Pot;
Was a political leader whose communist Khmer Rouge government led Cambodia from 1975 to 1979 who tried to implement Year Zero... ("0 years" anyone?)
The idea behind Year Zero is that all history before is deemed largely irrelevant, as it will ideally be purged and replaced from the ground up!
(Sound familiar?)

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
That is an impressive issue swerve even by your standards La Z Boy!

Posted by: chatty (6011)  Report abuse
No "issue to swerve".
The only "issues" are the one's the guy who's trying to re write history and convince everybody City are a big club whilst they are still on the starting block when it comes to European Champions cups, has!

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
Nope, I need convince nobody, the world already knows which team is living in the past and which team has the brightest future.

City aren't living off past glories they are making tomorrows history today.

MANCHESTER CITY - RECORD BREAKERS 2017/2018

Posted by: fireplace6899 (inactive) Report abuse
City cant live of past glorys, they have none.

Unless you count the crowd of 3,007 against Mansfield.

That crowd was a record to.

If you like FP, if you like.

Not if I like it is a fact.

I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE WHO IS ILL BEING CALLED NAMES.

MAYB WE SHOULD START CALLING PEOPLE, WHO YOU KNEW ARE KNOW NAMES.

I WONDER HOW WOULD YOU REACT.

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
"just remind us how many champs leagues city have won , no even better how many finals have they been in ? ."

None. Now does that make you feel better to have it confirmed that the CHAMPIONS and RECORD BREAKERS haven't won the Champs League? If so, you are on your own because, although it would be nice to win it, I for one don't give a monkeys. If you think it annoys me then you are wasting your time.

I am more interested in the now not the ancient istree of yoonited!

It doesn't bother me that Liverpool have won it 5/6 times or that Chelsea/Villa/Forest/Celtic have won it either.

And that's the difference between you and me, you are bitter and squirming that Liverpool are far more successful in Europe than yoonited whereas I congratulate yoonited on being successful in the past.....the distant past!

BTW, on that point did I mention that the CHAMPIONS 2017/2018 are CENTURION RECORD BREAKERS?

Posted by: whups (2969)  Report abuse
record breakers come from old trafford with 20 league champs under our belt . get real .

Posted by: 0 years (2886) Report abuse
Read my edited post again and stop banging on about ancient istree.

I am more interested in the now not the ancient istree of yoonited!

It doesn't bother me that Liverpool have won it 5/6 times or that Chelsea/Villa/Forest/Celtic have won it either. Or that yoonited have won 20 League titles for that matter.

And that's the difference between you and me, you are bitter and squirming that Liverpool are far more successful in Europe than yoonited and that yoonited are now in City's shadow whereas I congratulate yoonited on being successful in the past.....the distant past!

BTW, on that point did I mention that the CHAMPIONS 2017/2018 are CENTURION RECORD BREAKERS?

Posted by: fireplace6899 (inactive) Report abuse
Still a record of 3,007 for the Mansfield game.

I remember the years when we used to walk round Maine Road singing "Were are the City fans".

We never got a answer

Posted by: laughing gravy (3719) Report abuse
