PETERq. Funny enough my misse's and i were talking about this very subject of the attendance, which was (( Can the F.A. explain to me just what do they expect of the fans? Any one in there right mind could and should have guessed that a replay on a Wednesday night K.O. 8.00pm would not attract hardly any fans this is taking into tthe fact the weather which was again foul ,but mainly to ask the Bournmouth fans to travel 250 plus mile's is simply ridiculous)) Peter i ask you would you travel that distance on a winter's night?? As for myself forget it! So we will have to see the attendance for the WEST HAM game any guesse's. OH WELL DONE WIGAN.

Posted by: grimshaw (1019)  Report abuse
G B.

The last thing the F A think of is the fans and the many problems they encounter on traveling especially on the over crowded motorways.

Even so i was surprised at the low attendance but i suppose cost is a big factor.

Posted by: basil brush (9764) Report abuse
Disappointing crowd, I thought there would have been more on while we were playing a premiership side.

Posted by: cordyline (4401)   Report abuse

Nope, not looking forward to this one bit! (for obvious reasons).

Posted by: bassman (3591) Report abuse
No disrespect to the Latics, they have had a great season, but somehow can't see City cocking this up.....

Posted by: 0 years (2872) Report abuse
I don't know about that bassman, City are more than capable of screwing things up.

But that is part of the fun in being a City fan.

Posted by: chatty (5940)  Report abuse
And still no post on this thread from Wigan Worlds most well known Ex Latics "season ticket holder" who only lives "five minutes from the ground"

No wonder he ain't got the gall to mention "glory hunters" anymore.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3569) Report abuse
chatty posted a pics of your tickets yet? THOWT NOT PLASTIC.. yet you think you have the gaul to question others

Posted by: chatty (5940)  Report abuse
If you hadn't told me you NEVER lie (not counting the 18 months you swore you wasn't kellysdad obviously) I would have more than a sneaky suspicion that you don't really have me on "ignore"

Tonight's League One game between Bristol Rovers and Wigan has been postponed because of freezing temperatures in Bristol.

The Blackburn v Wigan game is being shown live on Sky Sports Football on Sunday , kicking off at 12 Noon

Posted by: basil brush (9764) Report abuse
Wigan Athletic's FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton will be played on Sunday, March 18 (1.30pm)...same day as the Run Wigan Festival (some roads closed etc)...BBC's call, club had no say...everyone working hard (with Wigan Council) to ensure minimum disruption. #wafc

Posted by: Wigan Rover (579) Report abuse
Well spotted Basil , could be problems if the routes run close to the DW Stadium , especially with a 1.30pm Kick Off ?

Posted by: cordyline (4401)   Report abuse
Latics lucky to make a draw today; coming from 2 nil down

I thought B/Rovers where the better team
BBC report

Posted by: chatty (5940)  Report abuse
Couldn't disagree more cordyline, first 20 minutes Blackburn got out of theif half twice, (two clinical finishes all the same) after that third goal was always going to be crucial, Latics got it and a win wouldn't have been a mugging for Blackburn.

Posted by: grimshaw (1019)  Report abuse
Plain to see evidence of the club Powell was taught his good habits judging by the game today.

Perhaps chatty can advise me the club in question given his football knowledge .

Posted by: aussie94 (1648) Report abuse
well done the Latics.

Posted by: chatty (5940)  Report abuse
I take my hat off to the Latics, they could easily have fell flat after the Southampton game, points on the board always trump games in hand for me (especially when the pressure is on) but they won their next two and it's in their hands.

top of the third division how exciting

Exciting enough for you to take the trouble of commenting on it

Posted by: cordyline (4401)   Report abuse
Latics back at number one with THIS fine performance against Oldham

Posted by: Wigan Rover (579) Report abuse
After supporting the Latics through their Cheshire League and Northern Premier League years , I'm very excited and satisfied to be top of the Third Division , along with everything achieved along the way too

Posted by: Believer (110) Report abuse
Watchalot and the team you support home and away is ... ? This season has been great. Paul Cook, his staff and the players have been a joy to watch this season

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
i too have supported the latics from their lancashire comb days, and i'm also excited about this season after the dross served up by warren joyce previously. full marks to paul cook, he is playing the game the right way, win or lose he is having a go. i think i can speak for the majority of fans, they are a pleasure to watch, long may it continue.

Tony Those of us that watched Latics during their Non League days , saw struggling times in the lower divisions of the Football League and gave what we could afford to Latics Lifeline in the early 80's , are more then happy to see us top of Division Three , something we could never have envisaged 40 years ago !

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
i agree with everything you say rover. we've had a fantastic ride, long may it continue.

Top of league again after beating Rochdale 1 - 4

Blackburn only managed a draw

Posted by: basil brush (9764) Report abuse
Fantastic couple of wins for us, up the tics ✅

Can't believe theres not loads of comments about how good we're doing.

We truly are the people

Posted by: Wigan Rover (579) Report abuse
Basil , it's probably because most of the Latics fans who view this site are old and wise enough to know that nothing has been achieved yet and the top three places may only be decided on the last day of the season . But yes , Latics have been brilliant this season and a joy to watch after last seasons awful campaign , let's hope we can go up as Champions , because they deserve to do

Posted by: Tiger cat (44) Report abuse
Latics are having a really good season and are doing it playing good football, to good for the league they are in.

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
rover, i agree with everything you've said, i'm not taking anything for granted, i'm sure there will be more twists and turns before the season end, but hopefully, we will get there. it's a shame though, one of the three teams will miss out, which surely must be a record, for number of points, and not get promoted.

Posted by: builderboy (1934) Report abuse
It's still 2 from 3 for the automatic promotion places.

The team that eventually misses out on automatic promotion will have accumulated miles more points than positions 4,5 and 6 and should be a shoo-in. BUT........

Good luck Latics, from a Wigan Warriors fan who would love you to get back up into the Championship.

They'll end up yo-yoing with Bowton again like they've done for the last few seasons and next year will be the same. Not good enough for Championship and too good for League One both of them.

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
how the hell do you know ?? stick to your own team, don't pass judgement on issues that don't concern you.

Posted by: peter g (1885)  Report abuse
Truth hurts does it Latics not played in the same league for a few years now down up down up. Bolton same.

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
the truth dosen't hurt me at all, the thing what's narking you, is the latics got promotion, and you don't like it.

Posted by: peter g (1885)  Report abuse
As a Wiganer I'm chuffed at Latics going up but are they strong enough to stay there this time.

Posted by: tony j (657)  Report abuse
who knows what will happen next season, time will tell. in my opinion , if we can keep our better players and also our manager and strengthen the squad, i see no reason why we can't hold our own, it's all conjecture.

Posted by: peter g (1885)  Report abuse
Good luck for next season then.
