cheltenham festival
Started by: grimshaw (580)  Report abuse
Dont know if there are any horse racing fans on the site but the cheltenham festival starts tomorrow and i was wondering if anyone had any strong fancies for the 4 day meeting.

I fancy melon to get me off to a flying start in the first race tuesday .3-1 fav in the betting and well fancied by the irish connections

Good shout in the 1st Grimshaw ballyandy will give it a good run. I like the look of Singlefarmpayment in the 2:50. outsider of the day Last Goodbye in the last race.

grimshaw what about bignosesstamp?

Posted by: grimshaw (580)  Report abuse
Yes ballyandy is a danger blackrod .gone for melon mainly because ruby picked it from 4 choices .

Im on petit mouchoir E W in the champion hurdle and limini in the mares final.

Good luck .

Nothing stands out for me today but I have had a few small ante post bets who are running so still a chance.
Moon Racer, and The Druids Nephew(back on the same mark he won this race) are two.
I have had a bet on Burtons Well in the last, and I am having a bet on Foxfail Hill in the same race.
Elgin in the first race is owned by Elite Racing club of which I am a member, so I have had a few quid ew on that one as the trainer Alan King says he is in good fettle, the ground is fine but it's never run at Cheltenham before.
It was beaten by River Wilde last time but conceded 3pounds to it,being in with a chanceuntil a mistake at the last.25/1 looks a good price to me so hopeful!
I think I will back Apples Jade and Beware the Bear for interests sake, and until the racing I will have a stroll along the sea shore and enjoy this lovely Canarian weather.👍

Good luck with the elite horse fossil and your other wagers.

A pal of mine has shares in a club horse that nicholls trains.

The members were down at the stables the last weekend but one and informs me that nicholls said he had never had his horses better .

I hit the bar today with my 3 selects .

A 2nd and two thirds .I had petit mouchoir e/w at good odds so won a few quid on that race but lost a little on the day .
Each one was in the firing line at the last so no complaints.

A tremendous days racing ,roll on tomorrow.

like a lot of these so-called top managers guardiola inherit good teams & never build them . reminds me a lot of dalglish & sourness at l/pool who could,nt build on the success of an ageing team. unlike sir alec who built about 6 .
