Best wishes to the team tonight. What a good chance for the young lads to shine! let's keep Warrington on the bottom!!

The result is immaterial really

The real season only starts in September

Yes, I've got to agree. SL is in a dreadful state.

There is hardly any media cover other than the Sky coverage; and it is hardly mentioned on Five Live. I have always wondered how these players get motivated. Probably the biggest moment will come on the Saints v Wigan Easter encounter; after that, it's a long grind until the play off begins in the autumn.

The organisers have a lot to answer for. RL has long been a comedy sport, and bringing a team from Toronto to play lower league clubs smacks of desperation.

Toronto? Come on...

Gordon Bennett!

Later this week a win for the Latics and a defeat for " mighty Wolves" and Stan Cullis's men drop into the relegation zone. Come on Latics.

Thursday night?

What's all that about?

Poor attendance?

Another own goal.

Great entertainment eh jarvo...I supposed you did watch it....Wigan stopped wire running riot in first 20 minutes and in fact did to them what they normally do....leulai and Williams combining well and Farrell outstanding...well done lads and mr wane

Posted by: jarvo (26877)  Report abuse
Nooooo, Roy.

I don't touch the stuff in the week.

NEVER.

Great display from Wigan Ė when they have a full squad I canít see anyone getting near them this season apart from Cas maybe

For me the demise of Warrington, Saints and Leeds epitomises the lack of class players in the game today

well the young lads certainly did shine didn't they? love this sport.

Posted by: wigvet (3066) Report abuse
they did Kath especially young Marshall - his dad Dave would have been one proud man last night - great effort by the 'kid'

wigvet is right.. it really doesn't matter. The comp only starts in September. The standard goes down every year. The sport just cannot be turned around. Let's go back semi-pro and amateur and take it from there. More Wigan RL to Orrell, so they at last have their own facilities instead of renting and RL can be a grassroots amateur game like crown green bowling.

All teams have their share of the "slump"....players get old and lose a yard of pace young players show naivety at times and if you don't get the right combination at the right time you struggle until the younger players mature into the game after the older ones have hung up their boots....Leeds and saints are in that position at the moment....Wigan are more fortunate at this moment but we have been there in the past

We need someone like this fella back.

I'm glad the warriors are not making us a laughing stock by keep losing all the time

Posted by: roylew (1302) Report abuse
The younger players now maturing....I hold my hand up to the coaching set up which as you know I critised last year....when you write down what you think is wigans strongest team on paper and see who started last nought it is amazing

Posted by: jay_1 (14611)  Report abuse
Strong compared to what,Roy? We are poor all over. The standard is shocking.

Posted by: broady (11899)   Report abuse
When you say "we" I presume you mean your adopted team the Stains??

Posted by: basil brush (8431) Report abuse
he's certainly not on about the latics, he doesn't watch them anymore

Posted by: jay_1 (14611)  Report abuse
All over, really Broady. I went Saints vs Cas last year in hospitality. I never came out of the bar. Absolutely zero entertainment these days. The Saints team under Millward were the most entertaining RL team ive ever seen. I'd rather watch a game of dominoes than watch this lot.

Posted by: roylew (1302) Report abuse
It was the players bond and skill at the time....Millward was a lucky man being there then

Posted by: wigvet (3066) Report abuse
''The Saints team under Millward were the most entertaining RL team ive ever seen''

you must be far younger than what I thought - you obviously weren't around in the 80s

Posted by: roylew (1302) Report abuse
My god I didn't say they weren't a great team..they certainly were...frightened the life out me....just said that millward was lucky to be there in that era...I could have coached that team...they were class...same as the early 90's team at Wigan....easy to coach

No opposition.

It's getting a bit like politics.

Posted by: wizzerwin (1405) Report abuse
I've come to the conclusion that jay is jarvo. Fact

Posted by: roylew (1302) Report abuse
Correct

Posted by: jarvo (26877)  Report abuse
Come on, it's a poor mon's game.

Tarnished by years of thuggery, the game has become sterile and devoid of any skill or excitement.

The games are played out at two thirds empty stadiums and the teams border on muscle man mentality.

There are no characters whatsoever. None at all.

Posted by: kathpressey (3974)  Report abuse
wigvet - Marshall did amazingly well. I sure his dad was well proud. His dad presented him with his shirt before the game. i bet he's playing next week after that performance.
