Don't usually comment on united but watched the game today after watching the city game yesterday no comparison city / Chelsea good entertainment
Everton / united bloody boring pogba in my humble opinion waste of money

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
How much did the Liverpool goalkeeper cost??

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
i've no idea broady and nor do i care but what i do know hes not been sold for 800,000 quid and been bought back for 90,000,000 quid to have 14 shocking gameslook in the mirrow and ask yourself is that good buisness..

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Your opinion on United means nothing to me. You knock them whatever they do. A tad childish TBH..

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
that,s not the point is it. he,s shite. i never thought i,d say it but he,s worse than calamity james.

If you United were battering Everton in the second half, I think you've got your colours the wrong way round.

Posted by: baker boy (13801) Report abuse
about the same price are the following, bale and pogba, but if them two where in the school yard, every team captain would pick bale first.
i'm not sure whether he's settled in at utd and the premier league ,but for his money he's disappointing, perhaps alex was right in the first place.
if I had 100 million to spend on players and exhorbitant wages ,pogba would not be in my first eleven,or for that matter on the horizon.

Posted by: GOLDEN BEAR (3031)  Report abuse
LAPIS LAZULI:
The thread i wrote clearly states that u was referring to the wigan game so i have clearly not got the colours wrong way round ,i believe it is you who has not for whatever reason read it properly never mind though at least you can read .

Posted by: lapis lazuli (inactive) Report abuse
You said Latics and United were alike, then said Latics were battering the opposition, implying United did the same?

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse

Very perceptive lg, you knew he was a good buy even when I had my doubts!

He may well prove to be a 100 mill player.... But he will have to do it at a top club and move on from united.... They are no marks now.

Posted by: baker boy (13801) Report abuse
not a top club, what an interesting statement, hope you have proof of your post.

Best Player in the World is POGBA.

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
not yet sure fp about best player in the world , but his game has come on leaps & bounds since carrick & herera is in the team. top club, united is the worlds most premiere club.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
chatty really its not me you should have a problem with,if your teams manager thinks the above, you'll never win the title again in my lifetime..

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
You do worry far to much about the team you "hate" best let it go lad, all that stress can't be doing you anygood, you could be right we could win it next season and it may not be in your lifetime.

Posted by: baker boy (13801) Report abuse
after pogba's dismal showing last night ,i can confirm fergie was right ,one to go cut price.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
That waste of money Pogba goes and scores the goal that puts them on their way to earning about 50 Mil, football eh, Bloody Hell!

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse

F P.

Posted by: fireplace6899 (10796)  Report abuse
What a player he will be.

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
If he plays for United 10 years (highly doubtful) he costs 9m pounds a year plus wages. At that rate he should have one good season behind him. Should be no bedding in time. If you went and bought a Rolls Royce and the rep said you would have to run it in for a year you would tell him where to shove his Roller. Just my opinion.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Bumpety Bump!

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Chatty,
Any explanation why Lukaku and Matic fit in seamlessly without a season " bedding in" ???

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Yea both been playing Premier League football many seasons before joining United so bang up to speed, next!

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
I refer to my previous comments regarding a Rolls Royce. Should purr and glide as soon as it leaves the showroom. I don't exactly think Pogba was playing in the Wigan Amateur league prior to his arrival at United. Hope he goes well this season. Two goals don't make a summer.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
I will then refer to my previous comments about humans not being machines, as for "fitting in seamlessly" it's only early days and the same could be said about Lukaku and Matic but I get your point and hope you are right so we can have a ABU bitter free zone if nothing else.

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
so what do you think now ? .

Posted by: GOLDEN BEAR (3031)  Report abuse
POGBA, Now he is being given a bit more freedom with MATIC backing him in midfield he will start to show his capabilities which at times are breathtaking .

Posted by: fireplace6899 (10796)  Report abuse
Now worth £250 million

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
he got the same service l/year from carrick.

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
I suspect Matic will play more games than Carrick though.

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
exactly . he,s 8 years younger doing the same job.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Matic a lot more mobile than Carrick and quite willing to take the ball forward and players on if there's space in front of him.

Posted by: xxstuartxx (5799) Report abuse
Did you ever play Shatty or did you compete from the armchair like you support your team?

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Terrific start from the most talked about team in G B .

My concern would be a lack of natural width in attack .

Sir A of F generally had wide players ,gigsy, beckham, sharpe, kanchelsis et al.

Other views welcome from people who know what they are talking about .

That clearly does not include xxstuartxx and laughing man.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Spot on grim about the width that's why we're linked with Ivan Perisic but Jose having seen Martial playing wide and cutting in to score may stick with what he's got!
Spot on with your last sentence also!

Posted by: xxstuartxx (5799) Report abuse
No answer to my simple, even for you, question then Shatty. Ah well, I think we all know the answer anyway.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
DOH there you go again following me about asking questions yet again.
All very unhealthy indeed.

Posted by: xxstuartxx (5799) Report abuse
Still no answer.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
What do you do for a living Shatty (at least 3 times).
Did you ever...?(at least 5 times)

Of course you don't follow me around

Posted by: xxstuartxx (5799) Report abuse
........and never an answer to any, hiding something?

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Bloody hell another question.
You're either a wanna be copper or a Norman Bates, No need to guess what my money's on.

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Still not really impressed with Pogba. Not consistent enough. Be interesting to see how they cope without whilst he is out with the injured hamstring.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
i know some will be on my back thinking i'm trouble making but if pogbas worth 90+ million just what is de bruyne worth? constantly running games

Posted by: fireplace6899 (10796)  Report abuse
Look at what you are worth Laughingstock.

I would say a empty cig packet.

Any higher offers?

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
4-0 without him!!!!

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Thinking of uniteds win today i recall a description of a horse race i read in the racing post a few years ago in which a top class horse was running against inferior opposition.

It read thus .

Hardly out of a canter throughout ,led two out,won hard held .

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Didn't win at Stoke though.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
I am glad they keep winning Grimshaw but I am still not convinced Pogba brings an awful lot to the team. I shall be happy to be proven wrong however.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
What is concerning me broady is the obvious lack of width .

I do hope this is addressed by jose and we do use the width of the pitch more .

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Welcome back Paul you "complete waste of money".

Plenty width there today grimshaw.

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Sadly I didn’t watch it. I am in 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 enjoying tequila’s. I backed them to win 2-0.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Couldn't make the flag out, looks like Outer Mongolia? Have a good time.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Yes width chatty .
Vindicates my comment.

Jose was a tad more adventurous today playing pogba in a more forward position .

Liked the numbers in the box when we got width.

Cruised in second half .Thought Valencia had a v good game .

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
chatty,
Maybe the word tequila is a giveaway.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Sure was broady.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
Could've have been a rogue clue broady, I've known Incers who neck tequila in their local on a Friday nite!

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
pogba was the difference today. top class.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
WAS HE THE DIFFERENCE TODAY WHUPS?? ITS NOT OFTEN IM WRONG

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
JUST WAIT TILL THEY GET POGBAD BACK..

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
best mid-fielder in the prem .

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Not very impressive at all. What did he do yesterday. Hit four or five crossfield passes (brilliantly) and nothing else. Read what Paul Scholes says about him.

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
Very impressive display by him today. Final pass for both goals. United as a team were much more impressive and two great goals.

Posted by: chatty (5888)  Report abuse
That's where he needs to be, further forward creating chances,
as already stated on here, worth every penny.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
When we play with freedom we are much better rather than bothering about what the opposition do .

Much more fluid today but again hardly a quality ball from the right which given we played lindelof right hand in defence and no natural WIDE player crosser wasnt surprising...

Still think we lack a class midfielder who can unlock defences despite the quality of matic .

KEEP THE FAITH

Best new year wishes to everyone on WIGAN WORLD .

Posted by: bassman (3591) Report abuse
They were playing Everton...not Barcelona.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
How very observant of you.

Thank you for that information bassman.

I would never have known .most kind of you.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
EVEN THE PLASTICS DONT KNOW WHAT THEIR SAYING WHUPS SAYS POGBADS THE BEST MIDFIELDER IN THE PREMGRIMSHAWS SAYS STILL THINK WE LACK A CLASS MIDFIELDER WHAT SAY YOU ABOUT THAT WHUPS???

Posted by: bassman (3591) Report abuse
No problem Grimshaw.......but you're intelligent enough to appreciate what I'm saying...

Posted by: bryanp121 (1319) Report abuse
Every team has injuries but united have had more than their share this season, key players, pogba missing about 9 games that's half of their campaign. Also Bailly, and Valencia two outstanding players, any team would miss those three.

Posted by: whups (2703)  Report abuse
i,ll say it again for "you know who " . BEST MID-FIELDER IN THE PREM .

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
well with you being LIAR.. why would anybody believe you?? DONT FORGET YOU SAID TRAFFORD HAD 9 1ST TEAMERS OUT WHEN THAY PLAYED BRISTOL!! LIAR......

Posted by: bassman (3591) Report abuse
Bryan...the "2nd team " in the squad are all internationals, so surely they should be good enough to step up when necessary..otherwise have Utd bought daft....Having said that, a few of the top teams are in a similar position, so moaning about injuries tends not to wash....

Posted by: broady (13171)   Report abuse
"When we play with freedom we are much better rather than bothering about what the opposition do "

"That's where he needs to be, further forward creating chances"

Why can the Manager not see that?? All this "parking the bus" malarkey.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Its his mentality broady.

He quotes his record when questioned about this ,Look at how he rubbishes scholes this morning in the press.

I am not his biggest fan but to boo the team and him off the pitch on saturday was disgraceful .

I was present with pals of mine but felt embarrased .

When things are going bad thats the time you support your team..

KEEP THE FAITH .

Posted by: bryanp121 (1319) Report abuse
Bassman. I agree most of the 2nd team are internationals but that does not mean they are top players. You only have to look at England's record in finals to see that. The point I was trying to make was bringing in quality. United payed a lot of money for pogba and when he is missing it shows. Have united wasted money on some signings, you could be right.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
If it shows when hes missing how come you've only won once in 4 games since hes been back from suspension? overpriced overpaid overhyped..

Posted by: bryanp121 (1319) Report abuse
LG. Have united lost in those four games, always two sides of the coin. Wonder what record it is if united have lost any league game while pogba has played this season.give? You something to do, when you check it out you won't want to put it on here.

Posted by: 0 years (2872) Report abuse
bryanp121, I am not doubting that yoonited have had a lot of injuries and I am quite happy to concede that it could be more than most but, out of interest, I went on tinterweb to see if there were any up to date records of each club's total injuries this season to date.

Unfortunately, although there were sites giving current injuries I could not find one to list the whole season.

Does anyone have any links?

This is just curiosity not a point scoring exercise.

Posted by: bryanp121 (1319) Report abuse
0years. When Silva is out for city they don't look as good as when he plays. I think he is their best player and has been past few years.some teams can carry injuries but if key players are out it tends to show.its just I see pogba, Bailly, and Valencia as top players and can see it affects how united play, only my opinion mind,

Posted by: 0 years (2872) Report abuse
Bryanp121, I don't disagree with that and utd have no doubt dropped points because of it.

However, with regards to City, the footballing nation were insisting that we had a dodgy defence even before our previously best defender and captain(Kompany), our new best central defender (Stones), and our new record buy left back (Mendy) were injured.

We had to put Delph in place of Mendy, Delph had never played that position before and was seen as a player to be shipped out and Mangala in place of Kompany/Stones. Mangala had been derided by all, including City fans as a waste of time and money with City trying to flog him off for a couple of years.

Strangely enough though we have the best defensive record in the League this season. As Bassman says, there should be strength in depth. That is good management.

All teams suffer through injuries. I was just interested in which teams had suffered most and the effects it had on their current league position.

Dropped today according to reports. By all accounts was abysmal against Spurs.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
Pogba was detailed to play alongside matic allowing sanchez to play and support lukaku,

He didnt follow the detail .

To describe his performance as abysmal is being kind to him.

Posted by: ahcawntspeyk (5762) Report abuse
Huh? How the hell do you know what he was "Detailed" To do ? Are you on the Manchester United staff? In my opinion if Pogba was a Cricketer he would be termed as a flat track bully... That just about sums him up as a footballer.

Posted by: grimshaw (982)  Report abuse
If you but knew .

Anyone with a tiny amount of football knowledge would have worked out in a minute or two what pogba had been detailed to do.

Shows your lack of it.

Posted by: laughing gravy (3478) Report abuse
he's very good at going to the barbers and doing funny handshakes but as a footballer read my opening post..
