about the same price are the following, bale and pogba, but if them two where in the school yard, every team captain would pick bale first.
i'm not sure whether he's settled in at utd and the premier league ,but for his money he's disappointing, perhaps alex was right in the first place.
if I had 100 million to spend on players and exhorbitant wages ,pogba would not be in my first eleven,or for that matter on the horizon.

If he plays for United 10 years (highly doubtful) he costs 9m pounds a year plus wages. At that rate he should have one good season behind him. Should be no bedding in time. If you went and bought a Rolls Royce and the rep said you would have to run it in for a year you would tell him where to shove his Roller. Just my opinion.

I refer to my previous comments regarding a Rolls Royce. Should purr and glide as soon as it leaves the showroom. I don't exactly think Pogba was playing in the Wigan Amateur league prior to his arrival at United. Hope he goes well this season. Two goals don't make a summer.

Replied: 19th Aug 2017 at 20:26

I will then refer to my previous comments about humans not being machines, as for "fitting in seamlessly" it's only early days and the same could be said about Lukaku and Matic but I get your point and hope you are right so we can have a ABU bitter free zone if nothing else.

Terrific start from the most talked about team in G B .

My concern would be a lack of natural width in attack .

Sir A of F generally had wide players ,gigsy, beckham, sharpe, kanchelsis et al.

Other views welcome from people who know what they are talking about .

That clearly does not include xxstuartxx and laughing man.

When we play with freedom we are much better rather than bothering about what the opposition do .

Much more fluid today but again hardly a quality ball from the right which given we played lindelof right hand in defence and no natural WIDE player crosser wasnt surprising...

Still think we lack a class midfielder who can unlock defences despite the quality of matic .

Bassman. I agree most of the 2nd team are internationals but that does not mean they are top players. You only have to look at England's record in finals to see that. The point I was trying to make was bringing in quality. United payed a lot of money for pogba and when he is missing it shows. Have united wasted money on some signings, you could be right.

bryanp121, I am not doubting that yoonited have had a lot of injuries and I am quite happy to concede that it could be more than most but, out of interest, I went on tinterweb to see if there were any up to date records of each club's total injuries this season to date.

Unfortunately, although there were sites giving current injuries I could not find one to list the whole season.

Does anyone have any links?

This is just curiosity not a point scoring exercise.

0years. When Silva is out for city they don't look as good as when he plays. I think he is their best player and has been past few years.some teams can carry injuries but if key players are out it tends to show.its just I see pogba, Bailly, and Valencia as top players and can see it affects how united play, only my opinion mind,

Replied: 3rd Jan 2018 at 11:13

Bryanp121, I don't disagree with that and utd have no doubt dropped points because of it.

However, with regards to City, the footballing nation were insisting that we had a dodgy defence even before our previously best defender and captain(Kompany), our new best central defender (Stones), and our new record buy left back (Mendy) were injured.

We had to put Delph in place of Mendy, Delph had never played that position before and was seen as a player to be shipped out and Mangala in place of Kompany/Stones. Mangala had been derided by all, including City fans as a waste of time and money with City trying to flog him off for a couple of years.

Strangely enough though we have the best defensive record in the League this season. As Bassman says, there should be strength in depth. That is good management.

All teams suffer through injuries. I was just interested in which teams had suffered most and the effects it had on their current league position.
