Is anybody a golfer on WW and if so have any of you been viewing this last day's golf? It has truly been a great day for Sweden with their first Champion . It was nip and tuck between him and Mickleson, the weather came good too although i have only one item i take umbridge with and it was the very low score, albeit good news for the winner , but what i used to like about a golf course was its difficulty .

And as the score suggest's they have just murdered it . That may sound topsy-turvy but then that's GOLF!!!

Hi golden bear I'm a golfer at haigh hall, great viewing for golf fans today. super golf by both Stenson and Mickleson, left the rest standing.take those 2 out and it would have been close, scoring wise. Just show's how good they played. Technology and improved fitness/strength have seen even the longest holes become shorter. For me golf is still difficult but very enjoyable twice a week round Haigh Hall love it...

A weird open...only those 2 managed the elements...I went to Haigh hall Saturday afternoon...came off after 9...due to all the rain it was a bog, although the greens were fair..I think they charge too much there...but it's close enough to go and have a knock...you can get on many private courses these day for less

Hello Blackrodweaver, im glad you enjoyed it ,it has been many a year since we have witnessed such a good battle betwee two very good golfer's. I agree too it's been strange indeed that only two mastered the conditions as well as the course, whats your opinion on our course's in Britain do you think we should maybe make them a bit more difficult? like you say these lads today can make par 5s look ordinary. So your a member of Haigh Hall ,it's been donkey's years since i been there,i used to be a member of Hart Common from the start, sad to report though since i had this damn accident a number of years back my enjoyment has had to cease, oh how i miss it.
Nice talking to you B/W hope you keep catching those birdies prob an odd eagle eh? keep a look out for you on here all the best.

Hello Roylew, I see you saw it then truly grand display by those two, you mention your a Haigh Hall golfer i did not envy you at the week-end with all that rain. When i used to play i was ok if it was not raining at the start and if it came whilst playing i then used to treat as a challenge if you have read what i put to the other golfer (blackrod/W,i cant play anymore but in the day used to go all over with mates, my biggest thrill was to play the BELFRY, on the championship course we did a 2 day special 1 round on other course ( ive forgot its name) then next morn the BRABAZON, wow that was something . As for the private clubs even back then they would let us on. I lost count how many we have played over time ,Are you a member ROY? I'D better sign off get on about the game i cant stop so here's hoping like the other gent hope you the best next you play catch you later.

Hi Goldenbear...no I'm not a member anywhere...I love playing and going around all the local courses within a 30 mile radius...although now and again we go further and play 2 rounds...I am 65 now but can still manage 2 rounds on a reasonably flat course...I try to get out once a week...it's become very addictive and I am playing better than ever...especially my short game which makes all the difference...sad you can't play ..it must be frustrating for you

goldenbear the course you played after the brabazon was either the national or the derby. for me the national was harder than the brabazon. played those courses you mentioned Hawkstone park especially nice with the Follies all round a few holes. playing Birkdale in a couple of week the home of next years open.,
roylew ref cost at Haigh Hall for us over 60's it's £25 for a 5day season ticket mon to fri I play twice a week so its excellent value
