The Ryder Cup...

Started by: jarvo (30250)

How embarrassing.

An opening ceremony for a golf match?

At the millionaire's garden party: eleven hundred baseball caps, some well drunk, and some American...Say no more.

The wives look on, as their mega rich men rub shoulders with each other at golf's biennial highlight.

In the next 48 hours or so, the French will boo the yanks into oblivion...Or try to.

I'd rather not watch this hyped up pantomime. Just looking at the yank's dress sense on Ryder eve is more than enough for me...

Bring on Super League...Please?

Ugh!

“I’d rather not watch.....”. Well then, why did you? You’re obviously very anti-golf, so stick to your midlands football club!

I'm with jarvo. Golf to me is like Formula one. It's all about big money and a sport for those with money. That's why I like rugby league. It's open to anyone to have a go and make something of it.

Do any of you know of the quite good golfer born in Wigan who won the Portugal masters a few years ago along with several well placed finishes? He retired several years ago owing to the severe disruption to family life.
His parents are on occasions two of my cruising companions, not the mega wealthy at all.

I play golf and have done for donkeys years .Tony Jacklins father worked at Scunthorpe steel works and look what he acheived from a working class upbringing.

I dont wear particular clothing ,just decent trousers and polo shirt and a pullover if cooler.

One reason why i play golf and love playing is that i can play at all the top courses in g b on payment of a green fee ,including at St Andrews the home of golf

Apart from a change of footwear you can wear the same clothes that you shop in or go to a football game or the pub.

25 sovs and you can be kitted up .its only to look half decent on the course .

Imagine the uproar at say wimbledon if a player walked on court looking as though they had been dragged through a hedge backwards .

B t w broady whats your take on the utd situation.

Utd fans should put up and shut up.

The club has no right to success.

The have 'roughed' it before in the second tier under the Doc, and they came out of it stronger.

Stick with one of the world's best coaches. What's the alternative at the present moment?

Grimshaw,
I find it all difficult to fathom out. Is Pogba a disruptive influence or has the manager lost the dressing room? I have to admit I have never been a Pogba fan. Bailley and Lindelof look out of their depth. Having said that JM was responsible for signing them all. Is the manager talking rubbish just to divert attention from a poor team? I do know that apart from City last year I don’t recall getting too much enjoyment from watching them and their style of football. Was always impressed with Sanchez at Arsenal but he looks completely out of sorts. They are too big a club too let it go on much longer.

I agree with your sentiment that it is difficult to fathom out .

If player power is the reason for recent results then it is essential that the board back the manager otherwise his position is untenable and a form of anarchy will reign.

Fergie sorted out the dressing room when he took over with the backing of the board .

We had dark days in the past and came back stronger .

No reason why it cant happen again.

"We had dark days in the past and came back stronger"

DARK DAYS?!!

yoonited are just five points off the top four, have some of the best players in Europe watched in an almost full stadium, they are in the Champions League coached by a supposedly world class coach and a couple of wins away from back in form.

AND YOU THINK THESE ARE DARK DAYS?!!

Heaven help you if you drop to division three and play in the Autowindscreens Trophy.

Those days would be pitch black to you....but were good fun to some of us.

The last person who should be passing judgement on clubs hiring managers is oyears given the number of managers the berties have hired over the years during which time they sunk to the third tier of English football and in one season alone hired 5 managers and seven in the 80s..

However, I for one think he is doing a great job.
