OGS:

October it is.

Gone!

Posted by: broady (15329)   Report abuse
Congratulations on Saturday. I had you to win 2-0 on the predictor I enter. Presume you'll be cheering Wiggin this Friday. Sadly your mate is on the other side of Mexico or we could have met up and chewed the fat.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
Yes congratulations on the Wolves first Premier League win of the season against bottom club Watford, thus letting jarvo show his face back around these parts again and allowing him to start by posting about other teams in his attempt to deflect his own teams mediocrity.

Posted by: jarvo (29401)  Report abuse
...Read the press.

Only a matter of time.

to start by posting about other teams in his attempt to deflect his own teams mediocrity

i wonder if chatty see's the irony of the above..

Posted by: aussie94 (2313) Report abuse
well done you beat the bottom club

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
No but I saw 'the irony' in you telling me you've been on benefits for ten years and had several motorbikes in that time but thought I was 'living in another world' when I suggested your latest bike had been bought with the help of your benefit money.
Especially after you'd previously posted boasting that 'us taxpayers' would be paying for your next bike.

Posted by: laughing gravy (5408) Report abuse
I'VE HAD 1 SINCE 2011 TO 2019 NOT NUMEROUS BILLY! PAID FOR BY MY OWN MONEY! NOT BENEFITS..

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
Simple question.
Did you post boasting 'taxpayers would be buying' you 'a new bike'?

Posted by: whups (4359)   Report abuse
all you want to be consentrating on jarvo is the bottom of the league & going down.did,nt you say on another blog that you claimed benefits laughing boy ? .

A so so game tonight. No one really stood out. Maybe Dalot best for United in my eyes. Fred doesnít seem to be able to get it right.

A solid 0-0 away in Europe.
If only Pep could have managed that at Spurs last season.
But no he settled for one instead, and as we know the rest is history.

Well done to Wolves last night.

Please explain

For someone who's club is still on it's first 50 year old tin of Brasso when it comes to cleaning their European troph'Y' you haven't half got above yourself these days.

Posted by: laughing gravy (5408) Report abuse
please explain

for someone who's club hoovered up all the best players during the 90s and 00s when everbody else was skint they are now reduced to selling all their stockpiled brasso they no longer need to a club they ridiculed for decades due to the biggest downturn the world has ever seen yet the deluded fans believe every thing is OK why? because history say's so..

Posted by: broady (15329)   Report abuse
I donít consider myself deluded. It is obvious they are going through a transitional period. Normal service will be resumed. Just for the record I enjoy watching City play and to a lesser extent Liverpool.

Posted by: laughing gravy (5408) Report abuse
i never said YOU were...the duluded ones know who they are..

Well well, I do believe our sanguine attitude to Uniteds predicament at the moment is causing you more anguish than their plight is us.

Posted by: laughing gravy (5408) Report abuse
what predicament? do you not keep saying united are the biggest, best and most successful club in the world! or has reality finally sunk in..

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
Form is temporary class is permanent, whilst your infactuation is comical.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
With respect Broady, transitional period my eye.

When other clubs are cr*p they are cr*p.

All of a sudden yÚonited fans have invented this transitional period nonsense to excuse the fact that they are cr*p.

How long is this transitional period going to take and when did it start?

Transitional period indeed, absolute rubbish.

Posted by: jarvo (29401)  Report abuse
It's over for United.

OGS's departure is now overdue.

The Old Trafford hierarchy won't tolerate much more of it.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
Well well, I do believe our sanguine attitude to Uniteds predicament at the moment is causing you more anguish than their plight is us.

Worth re-posting (even so soon) especially when it applies to more folk than even I imagined

City.................. Wolves

76 Possession % 24
18 Shots 7
917 Touches 423
715 Passes 230
5 Clearances 43
9 Corners 1

The above certainly doesn't show that Wolves "mullered" City.

However, the scoreline (which is all that matters) does.

Fair play to Wolves they came to do a job and although it wasn't pretty, they did it.

I've no doubts who you'll be cheering on when United play Liverpool a week on Sunday.

The gap between yoonited and fourth place (10 points)?
The gap between yoonited and City (12 points)?
The gap between yoonited and L/pool (18 points)?
or
The gap between yoonited and relegation (5 points)?

As you said...MIND THE GAP!

Of the 7 clubs mentioned in the last few posts, 5 have either won or competed in the European Cup final.

Looks like City have more in common with Blackburn than anyone else, two sugar daddy clubs who couldn't cut the mustard in Europe.

MIND THE VARIOUS GAPS!

Watched Saturdayís game and to say they were mediocre is probably an exaggeration. There isnít even a spine of a team that they can build around. I hope Carrick is more animated after matches and in training than he is during the match. You may as well put a tailors dummy on the bench.

istry, istry, istry,

How sad that you put so much importance on this all of a sudden. Could it be because yoonited are now cr*p ?

But if you must know.

The team were founded in 1880 and incorporated as Manchester City in 1894, 125 years ago. See, lots of history.

I've already told you this, surely it isn't difficult to understand or does your calendar not go past 1992?

..Thursday night also-rans trophy..

It's what used to be the Uefa Cup, another European competition in which you've never troubled the engraver.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
"your right grim because he cant put anything of volume on can he .chelsea has more history than city."

Chelsea do not have more history than City, they were formed in 1905.

Go to the link whups and stop being dense, but I suspect you already have and that is why you are backtracking!

"It's what used to be the Uefa Cup, another European competition in which you've never troubled the engraver."

The funny thing is you obviously feel that this bothers me when I couldn't give a monkey's. I would be ecstatic if we didn't progress in the champs knockout trophy but won the Premier again. If we don't win the Premier I will SETTLE for the champs knockout trophy. If we don't win that then so what?

As for any other European tin pot trophy, at one time they would have been an aspiration whereas now they are beneath us.....as are yoonited, WAY beneath us!

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
It can't 'bother' you any less than United going through a dry spell at the moment does me but it doesn't stop you posting about it on a regular basis.
Big of you to admit though that you're as sh#te in the European Cup as you was at even qualifying for the 'also rans cup'.
We can agree on something though, I also would be "ecstatic' if you didn't progress in the champs knockout trophy but won the Premier again this season.

we dont care when it was formed . show us what you,ve won . and your slip is showing kellys dad , ops i mean laughing boy .

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
So you are changing the nature of your question then whups.

It is not now history you are asking about but the honours won within that history. Very well done, we got there in the end and it wasn't too difficult for you now was it?

If what you are intimating is that City haven't won as much as yoonited over their history then everyone knows that. This is particularly true since your calendar started in 1992.

Now what do you want, a toffee apple?

If you had gone to the link I provided for you, you wouldn't have been so "confued", but then again......yes you would.

Posted by: whups (4359)   Report abuse
i,m changing nothing . show us on here what you,ve won . it,s a simple enough question or cant you answer it ? .it seems you dont & you can start from day 1.i cant wait for pep to go to italy next year.

(2) And if they end up playing in Europe on Thursdays next season, how many sides of the ground will they keep closed on match nights?

That's hardly this weeks questions concerning United.
We weren't in a 'two horse race' at the beginning of the week.

Neither were City.......nor were they an also ran.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
This week you aren't and you are.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
So in racing parlance I believe an also ran is out of the top three as the top three places are considered worthy of achievement.

So as a result, in football terms, that would be top four being worthy of achievement with the rest being also rans.

So what does that make SEVENTH place and NINE points behind fourth place?

Also ran maybe?

Posted by: whups (4359)   Report abuse
remember leeds coming from 5th place at rugby league & winning it . remember foinavon winning the grand national at 100-1 . you just never know .taxi for pep.

Eh, make your mind up, if you don't win it, all finishing 2nd 3rd or 4th gets you is entry into the competition you are bending over backwards trying to convince us (and failing miserably) you're not bothered about.

Nonsense again Chatty, you have been out thought so you invent distorted assumptions in an effort to deflect the embarrassment.

I don't blame you, you don't want your minions to realise you have been outmaneuvered now do you?

Obviously I want my team to succeed and if that means finishing in the top four to allow progression then that is what is required. Doh!

Just think, even yoonited fans can aspire to a top six place so that they can continue their progression and establish themselves within the Thursday night club.

Utd are bigger than OGS.

Poch's forte is bringing young players through and giving them a chance, something that Ole is doing right now.
He spent nearly 6 years at Spurs and didn't win a bean, that's not the 'forte' a club like United want or need.

If you call not getting to a final but qualifying for the champs league knockout trophy nine out of the last ten years and only getting to a semi final not being a force in Europe, then you are right.

But you are wasting your time because I don't give a monkey's!

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
Good, I've been searching for the elusive 'how many times we've qualified for the Champs League' roll of honour, can you post a link to it?

I think they even named it in honour of Arsene Wenger who re invented his career doing it towards the end.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
Everytime The Fourmidables break a record or achieve something that you were certain would be "not in your lifetime" you move onto something else. Currently the champs league knockout trophy.

You are very quickly running out of sticks.

Why don't you have a banner made and hang it from the stand at old toilet.......if you know your way there that is!

I could name 9 other English clubs who have at least reached the Semi final of the Champions Cup, so by your argument they can all be considered 'a force in Europe'!

Not really, unlike you I don't need to wear the support of my team on my sleeve (although I can't recall you wearing it anywhere before they won their first trophy since The Rubettes were topping the charts ) or feel the need to shoehorn various away games into the conversation.

As for the 'LaZboy' jibe, I know for a fact you don't attend everygame without fail, so surely you must be talking 'degrees of Lazboyness' then.

jarvo, I already know that he knows you are a Wolves fan, but that wasn't the question?

Posted by: jarvo (29401)  Report abuse
Let's see:

1967-2019:

I was thirteen at the time (1967). Possibly eight home games in that first season; and five away.

1968-1978:

I hardly missed a home game up until 1977.
Away games: all the Lancashire clubs and Leeds. West Brom and Brum away.

1978 onwards:

Possibly ten home games per season up until 1980.

1980 and beyond:

I would average a home game at least once a month, due to work and getting married.
Became friends with Director John Harris in 1992 and was guest in the director's box on many occasions.
Started taking my son in 2005 as guests to the Harris family.
Away games during this time: All northern clubs and Villa included.

2017:

Became a season ticket holder in the Steve Bull Stand.
Attended every PL home game since then.

I 'go' to the match...

Do you, Chatty?

Oh, I forgot. My first ever game was at Burnden Park in September 1966. And then Deepdale in early 1967.

Both away games, obviously.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
So you've had a season ticket for 2 years and averaged about 8 games a season.

I 'go' to the match!

You are right Chatty, these days I'm very, very lazy, just every home league and cup game, most domestic away cup games, the odd European away game and half a dozen away league games per season. I've toned it down lately!

I bet you wish you could be that lazy.....but then again maybe not.

As for you not wearing your support on your sleeve, it would be difficult seeing as you probably still wear capped sleeve t-shirts. Those being the fashion the last time you went to a game.

And that was the problem I had with Zzzz, having already stated that I was willing to swear on my childrens life that the photo was genuine, he still had the gall to say it was a set up!
So yes I was "scriking about people questioning my honesty"[:?]

Moving on;
Show me the post where I have stated I went to the Wolves match
So for you ask me to show you a ticket for it or I am some kind of 'liar' is absoloute bollocks!

Not withstanding the fact I would never enter into any sort of transaction with you, saying a manager may not win a Premier League title is a completely different kettle of fish from saying he will get a team relegated.
There's probably 15 managers in the Prem at the minute who will never win the League.
I'm not suggesting for one second that Ole is on the same planet as Fergie but I wouldn't have bet tuppence on him winning the League 12 months into his tenure.
Once again, send me your Pay Pal details and I will send you the PENNY you THINK I owe you.
But no you wont do that will you because it's worth more to you to think you have someone beholden to you.

Grimshaw,
Glad you enjoyed it and a good result. First half very good, second half not as good. Was surprised Rashford didnít get his hat trick late on. I thought Fred had a much better game. Have to admit I was a bit disappointed in Spurs. McTomineyís return pepped up the midfield. Looking forward to Sunday.

Posted by: grimshaw (2086)  Report abuse
Thanks broady.

You could see how fired up they were early doors .

Spurs were disapointing ,lacking belief until the second half .
Scotty Mac played well but his tendency to lose or play the wrong ball in his own half is a concern which O G S needs to address.
Fred can clearly play ,just needs more confidence .
Roll on Sunday.Be having a sov or two on Rashy again .

My Sunday match experience will be humdrum in comparison. Early morning here so a big mug of tea and two bacon barmcakes as I watch the match. Whilst winning is very important it is the manner in which the team plays that is important also to me. Enjoy your day.

Congratulations to the corner shop, giving the conglomerate big boys a bloody nose in their own multinational headquarters.

Not quite 1-6 but commendable nevertheless.

They played like it was their cup final using all methods to gain a win. And so they should, it was always going to be the only way to get a result.

I remember when City were also rans and playing yoonited was our biggest game of the season, just like it is yoonited's now to play THE CHAMPIONS.

Oh how we celebrated on the rare occassion we beat them...just like you lot are now doing.

Oh how sad and pathetic we must have looked celebrating a win against our much bigger neighbours in our cup final...just as you lot now look.

Anyway, at least ole will stay on a little longer. Result!

you can call yourselves "big boys" when you win the champions league.taxi for pep.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
On another note, the moron who allegedly did the monkey chant yesterday and the idiots who chucked things need banning for life.

Every club has it's morons just like the yoonited "fan" who confronted Sterling a while back and the Chelsea morons on the train.

The vast majority of yoonited supporters were well behaved, in good voice and didn't half give it to us at the end of the game. Quite right too, I would expect nothing less...we have done the same.

However, a female yoonited supporter (we sit next to the away fans and corporate area) near the end of the game threw a cup which hit my wife on the head (fortunately empty) and legged it. What goes through the minds of these people? What made her think it was a good idea?

Any of us who attended games for years, particularly in the 70's have seen this type of stupid and racist behaviour and much worse.

Thankfully racism is now almost eradicated at football in comparison to days gone by and it has no place in society never mind football.

As supporters, irrespective of the colour of our scarves we must unite against the prejudice of the colour of our skin.

See it, report it.

KICK IT OUT!

You did with "City's European domination'.

I'm not sure I ever mentioned European domination (World domination maybe ). I could have though, just like you I often talk nonsense.

Please find a post that refers to European domination.

BTW, how's the corner shop's Thursday night domination going?

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
European domination by definition would come before World domination (oh the memories ) so I was being easy on you, but seeing that the likelihood of either is virtually nil we do seem to be splitting hairs.

"European domination by definition would come before World domination (oh the memories ) so I was being easy on you, but seeing that the likelihood of either is virtually nil we do seem to be splitting hairs."

Roughly translated as:

"I made it up in order to try to get one over but after trawling the site I can't find anything to back up my throwaway claim so I will attempt to hit the ball back with a mix of smoke, mirrors and shrouded backtracking in the hope that nobody notices".

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
No need to 'try to get one over you' my team did that for me on Saturday.
Far from throwaway, I recall you posting how City were going to dominate and how the future was blue, turns out it's gone a shabby grey.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
You've already told us you didn't and it was 'World domination maybe' I'm quite happy to be corrected on that point, but that fact remains you've still done neither so probably best if you shut up until you've managed to put up (on either score)

Don't make untrue statements in future.

Nothing 'throwaway' or 'made up' about either of those two post's, One completely contradicting the other.

You really shouldn't say things if you have already done the complete opposite.....again.

Nope, you are not wriggling off this hook.

Show me the post where I said that City would dominate Europe.

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
No 'hook' there I am afraid, quite happy to concede that your wildly outrageous (and totally wrong) prediction that City would go on to dominate world football was even more ludicrous than even I recalled.
Your posting above on the other hand shows you have "commented on things that haven't happened before they have" in the past

I do hope by responding to your nonsense, I have taken your mind for a little while off the fact that the 'also rans' and 'hasbeens' came to your patch and played you off the park on Saturday.

Now TC thinks it's his turn to try to be big and clever.

For all I know he might be big, but he could certainly never be accused of being clever!

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
Broady, probably a bit of both.

It's a shame his talent is wasted, if he was under Pep he would be world class.

He obviously feels that he should be on the world stage and a move to a big club would be best for all concerned.

Posted by: broady (15329)   Report abuse
Do you mean world class like Stones and all the other centre backs they currently use?

Posted by: chatty (7295)  Report abuse
European or World domination?
Your argument over which it was is akin to two bald blokes fighting over a comb seeing has they've managed neither.

Posted by: 0 years (3700) Report abuse
Can't disagree Broady, with Kompany leaving and LaPorte injured, Stones rumoured to be having family issues and just back from injury along with an ageing Fernandinho filling in out of position, plus an ageing Otamendi who has always had a calamity in him it's understandable why we are where we currently are.

We should have had a replacement for Kompany lined up but his decision to leave was quite spontaneous being given the opportunity at Anderlecht.

"I'm not sure I ever mentioned European domination (World domination maybe )"

"From the horses mouth higher up this thread no less, denying that one as well are we"

You conveniently missed out the smiley emoji immediately after that and within the brackets of the same statement. Obviously meant jokingly but you put your own fake spin on that as it wouldn't support your smoke and mirrors....as usual.

NOW WHERE ARE THOSE QUOTES? (shouty as I can't do bold)

Talking about 'hasbeens and 'also rans' aren't your's playing tonight, what with it being Thursday and all that?

So you're inferring anything you've ever posted with a smiley face after it could well be bullsh#t?
That explains a lot then.

I didn't 'conveniently miss out anything' out, I just ran my finger over the quote pressed copy and pasted it into the box, it doesn't pick up the emoji, but nice try anyway.

Quite correct we play tonight, saving you any chance of more embarrassment had we met you in that competition as well before someone turfs you out in the quarters.
Anyway must dash, got a vote to cast and a game to attend.
Come on you Reds.

That's a difference between you and me, it is an error that I wouldn't have made.

"Game to attend" my eye, you wouldn't know the way to old scaffold. Anyway, they did well playing St. Cuthbert's under eight, womens second eleven or whoever it was. Problem is the world didn't know or care who or whether they were playing.
