Megalomaniacs.

Started by: flockhound (160)

I am so appreciative of the views placed on the site by those persons who have been brave enough to put their name to login name (and in some cases photos) But to the rest of the Megalomaniacs whom seem to have a view on everything and hide behind a non-de-plume. Go and see a Doctor you have some heartlidge problem.

Get wom, I understand your logic, I was not directing toward yourself or others in the same boat, just idiots who dont have anything good to say and just sprout gibberish, knowing that all they are identified by is some stupid "call sign"

Flockhound (and others): I'm sorry that you think that those who want to retain their anonimity fall into the category of megalomaniacs. There are many reasons why an individual may wish to keep their true identity to themselves. Surely such people still have a right to participate in communication networks such as this excellent one set up by Brian. You have volunteered information about yourself (from the safety of a different continent I should add...) and that is entirely your prerogative. Please try to appreciate that some of us feel more comfortable communicating solely under our usernames. It doesn't make us unpleasant people and we can still make valuable contributions for others to enjoy. I guess that ends the St. Johns chat then Flockhound. Ah well, no hard feelings from my point of view.

Megalomania:=<quote>
A psychopathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence.

Don't see what that's got to do wi' nom-de-plumes.

Megalomaniacs want fame not privacy

i dont see what the problem is, if some people dont wanna put there names and pics on then isnt that up to them? and same goes with people who do put them on here, each to there own.

There is a reason for people being able to be anonymous if they want to be. You could be the fella next door? Could be someone you work with? Could be your boss?

You can be anything or anybody you want to be. Some people even go on 'dating' sites and pretend to be single when they are in fact married and the other half doesn't know. Fancy that?

You could be 'talking' to anybody, a 90 year old could pretend to be an 18 yo and vice versa. That is the beauty of the net - or the beast?? You take your chances. Stick to the basic rules, don't give out any information that you would not want the whole world to know - you never know who is listening and looking in ......not everybody has well meaning intentions.

We all know Billy is harmless, he just has an awful lot to say. I reckon there is a bit of the Blarney in him.

It's his missus I feel sorry for . Imagine what he is like when he gets to the bottom of that bottle of Jim Beam! He might be talking sense by then.
