any one know the wearabouts of marlene topping from orrell,, and edna whittle from ince ,they used to go to mosses in 1950s so they will be about in there early 60s now.

Marlene Topping married Jimmy Winstanley, also from Orrell, As far as I know they still live in the Orrell area, close to the water park, sorry for beimg a bit clueless.

I know the Edna Whittle you mean donny she is still going strong ,lives in Hindley I think I used to live by the side of them a lot of years ago in little darlington street in Ince but every one was moved when the street was demolished we went down platt bridge and I think Edna went up Hindley cant be to sure of that but I used to see her in the red lion in ladies lane on a friday night and just by coincidence my mother was named Edna whittle but we were no relation to Edna.

Edna Whittle is my mums sister she lives in aspull now but my mum sheila lives in hindley

edna lived in branch st ince then went to platt bridge then back to ince and now aspull. her fathers name was tommy and her mothers name maggie

did she go to mosses in the late 50s, i think it is likely it is her,if possible send a pic of her when she was young to stanholcroft@hotmail.com i will get back to you.

i remember edna as a very bubbly girl who had a very infectious chuckle. i took her to the pictures once . i never forgot her .she was my dream girl, i also took olive to the court cinema but i liked edna best.my name is stan we were both in our teens then. i probably never existed in her world but she did in mine.
