It's not just this site, I sent someone a message on another site, and told them a little about the family, in the Derby area, that they wanted to know more about .... never even a reply.....

It is annoying, especially if you go to a lot of effort to find the information, and type it all in, if it is not in a form that can be c&p. Then you find the enquirer has thanked the immediate responders for the (false) information they have provided, and does not re-visit the thread.

Hi All

I’m new to Wigan world but would appreciate any tips/assistance to use best forums/ methods for tracing relatives. Ancestry didnt throw up much for me to move forward. My post was about Frank Thomas Hitchen.

Thank you

northernlass. Have you used Lancahire bmd .org.uk and lancahire opc.org.uk ?
I notice from the latter that the brother Roy married into the Price family of Poolstock which links to my husband's tree.

Hello Mygriffiths

I got my info from the parish records, is this the same? Def not used Lancashire.opc.org.uk. According to ancestry Roy and Irene had a daughter Julie who I believe died when she was 21, can you confirm we are talking about the same people. Frank was from Poolstock Lane and his first wife was from Beech Hill, Audrey McQuade. Franks dad was Frederick and his mother Catherine but according to the parish record when Frank and Audrey married his dad was deceased. His older brother was his witness back in November 1956?. If this is easier to do by email, I’m happy to give you mine so I can paste info into it.
Thank you for your offer of assistance👍

Thank you for this, it’s pretty much what I found in my searches too, I’ve struggled moving forward with Franks records past these dates/entries. Perhaps I need to take a new tack in my search but I really appreciate your help and the time you’ve taken to help me.

if you recognise anything else please let me know. It’s funny how prominent Poolstock is in both our searches eh. Strange that Frank had it as his address but not Roy.
