Started by: annefair (1131) Report abuse
Anyone related to Jarvis and Minnie Smith? Both lived in Ainscow Street and married in April 1917 at St. Mary's Ince.
Looking if they had any children who may be able to help in looking for a relative

My grandmother was Minnie Foster (Miriam). Foster was her married name, she was born in Ashton in Makrfield but her parents came from Flintshire via Hanley.

not the same lady then

Posted by: kenee (1970) Report abuse
No, a coincidence. Her maiden name was Pearce.
My granddad was James Foster born in Ashton 1889.

Thank you winnie. It is actually Mary Elizabeth Waring (maiden name Foster) that I am looking for. I was asking for info on Minnie as she was Mary's niece and I thought I could go down that line to see if any of the Foster family had any info on Mary. Mary was last known in 1901 living as a boarder with the Melling family in Canal Street Aspull.
I know she went to Canada leaving her husband Walter and 2 children Jane and Richard in England. Don't know what name she travelled out of England with but know that she made a new life for herself in Canada. We think she went around 1908. We have not found her on the 1911 census. Not sure if you can help

Sorry mygriffiths, but I looked up the outward passenger list's, and the information is wrong. The "Cedric arrived on the 12th September 1904, but the ladies name was Mary ANN Waring, and she was traveling to meet her Husband (Waring) at his home in New York

Posted by: annefair (1131) Report abuse
Thanks Winnie I see that Jane (Janey is now back with her dad Walter whereas in 1901 she was with her mum in Aspull. This is where we lose Mary Elizabeth Waring (Foster )

Posted by: mygriffiths (1082) Report abuse

There is a Mary Waring age 36 leaving for Quebec on the 31st May 1913 on the 'Victorian' which may be worth checking but would not help finding her in 1911.
