There's only Jane, 1843 and she would be 45 when Harriett born, apparently her mother married and she had a sister Alice,could be a brother of Margaret got someone in trouble and she dumped her on mgt, ? Harriett ived with her aunt till she married, Charles cockshott in 1915,on marriage cert there is a line for fathers name don't think I'll sort this one out!!!!

Her mother was Helena Brown a factory operative from Carleton and according to the register Helena Brown said the father was James Bailey from Keighley. She was born at Skipton on June 2nd and bap on 5th June 1888 at Carleton.

It doesn't say born Skipton - Skipton is on the line underneath - must be Carleton.

The birth was registered in Skipton Registration District which includes the civil parish of Carleton, between 1st July and 30 Sept.

How you found that!!! Been looking ancestry for ages!!thank you, now I need to know what relation Helena was to mgt,maybe just called her aunt x

Helena was the daughter of Margaret's brother Thomas. She married Snowden in 1899. Harriet's husband went to war,came back a total mess and died at home in 1918. His document's
survived and since you have Ancestry you'll be able to see them. Harriet married Walter Middleton in 1923.
Look at the Yorkshire registers on Ancestry and you'll find lots of info on this family.
