Hi Golden Bear
I was born in Kirkpatrick Street (up by the Spinners Arms) and my name was Sheila Aldred, I went to St. John's school and Hindley Green Secondary Modern (Thomas Street).
I do genealogy so when you asked about someone from Hindley Green I just did a little research and found the information above regarding Wilfred Edward Clarke.
I am sorry I didn't get back sooner but have been busy, however I will do some searching for the other members of the family if you like and get back to you perhaps in a couple of days as I have visitors until tomorrow night.
Regards,
Sheila

Pat was also born in 1946, but in September, so I think she started school a year later than you. I was also born in September, and I remember turning 12 about 4 weeks into the first year.

I found the deaths on ancestry.co.uk not everything is on lancsbmd for those dates.

I do help people out with family trees and have one which I use or you could just go online and look for lost cousins chart there is a free tree on there as I find that people easily get confused and it is easier to write things down in pencil so that they don't miss a generation.

I do seem to remember the names Margaret and Michael Hayes, my brother in law Bernard Brown was brought up in Thomas Street just up from the school.
