Hughes the booze
Do you have any further information ie what the farm was called - is he still alive?
The only information I have at the moment is his name and the fact that he was a farmer and was around 29 years of age in 1961.
I think we may be related and I am having difficulty in finding out any info.
Many thanks for your help
Liz

At the end of Bryn Rd, the Golborne end
He died a few years ago -- quite a popular chap, was the milkman around Ashton for a while

I use to go to that farm as a kid, my friend had a horse there , am I right in remembering there was a shooting accident or something related to it years ago, its only a vague memory, but its sprang to mind at the name of it.

You're right. Nellie was the eldest of the sisters.
Her dad, Harry senior, used to have a few hours sleep in the lounge in the daytime(working nightshift in the pit)and kept a shotgun by the side of his chair.
