Any Brennan's out there originally from Ashton?

Started by: hotpot (48)

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is researching his family tree, looking for any Brennan descendants or info.

Patrick Brennan married Winifred Regan on October 11th 1921 at St Oswald's, Ashton in Makerfield. The Brennan family came to the Wigan area from Ireland, late 1800's.

Patrick Brennan was an uncle of my mother, who was born Catherine Towey at Ishlaun, Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon.

Also I have heard that a group of relatives from Wigan attended the funeral of Ann Carroll, a niece of Patrick Brennan, in 1991 in Stretford, Manchester. I do not know who they were, I would really appreciate help in tracing any family members.

I believe one of the Brennan family became a Bishop and became famous after appearing on a television show getting kicked up the arse by Father Ted !

If my memory serves me right I think a Jim Brennon used to work at Turners in Hindley Green. Didn't know him personally though or where he lived.
