Hi Christine
I went in the jaw bone for years when Jack Percival was the landlord it was a rum pub had many many a year of good times. It was full of characters not a bad domino and dart team i'm sure if you mention my name in there someone will know me i now live in the USA.
I was once told that the pub got the name of the Jaw Bone. there once was a bowling green behind the pub and two old codgers where playing bowls and had an argument when one of the old guys broke the others jaw bone so hence the nick name JAW BONE

It was my local in the 60's when Gerry farrimond, (no relation to Eric) was landlord. Eric was a mate, brilliant darter, and he had different coloured eyes, one brown, one green. In those days my other mates were Harry Hersnip, John Rathbone,Tony Prior, etc etc

Dodger, sounds funny with him having a police record, but then again Eric could get round anybody. Eric worked on the north sea gass conversion & it just so happened that he worke on his own house & next door, He asked me to put him a double socket by the side of his fireplace, Itook the floorboard up to run the cable & noticed that his gass pipe came from next door, when i asked him about it he admitted he had done it during the conversion & not paid for gass for two years, One rum bugger was Eric,

I gave him a tenner, and he gave me change for a fiver. He tried to engage me in conversation, in the hope I wouldn't notice, he said "you've not been in for a while" so I said "aye and it'll be a while before I come in again at £6 odd a pint.
