Marsh Brook, Hindley

It's been over sixty years ago that I was near it, it ran, for the most part, almost parallel to Sandy Lane at the bottom of an incline. I remember it being a fast flowing brook, maybe three or four foot wide in some places. One small area near the former sanatorium was known as the sandhole, part of the embankment was dug away leaving nothing but sand, as kids, we'd play for hours down there. I wondered if anyone had ventured there recently?

Near to my part of the world.
Sandy Lane was originally called Sandhole Lane, so maybe that's why the area around the sanitorium was called that.
Alder Lane was originally called Owler Lane.
