Interesting (and tare?) Wigan film from 1979

Started by: ashtonman01 (219)

Just discovered this piece of film footage on youtube showing GMT buses in Wigan dated 1979. The footage is interesting just to see the old cars alone, not to mention the long gone buildings and shops.

Speaking of classic cars, but is that a Citroen DS seen peeking out behind the bus as it passes by, around the 1.28 mark?. Where DS's common in those days?. Also noticed what looks like an early MK 1 Ford Capri heading along Library St (I think); very rare car now as Capri's go and quite valuable.

Went on Youtube and watched various clips from 1979-2013 about Wigan Buses and even though the signage has changes for King Street West surprised how many cars still went out passed the NO ENTRY SIGN
