Gennell Style, Hindley

Does anyone remember it? It was off Castle Hill Road, was it a street or a passage? Did it lead to some houses?

It could be ginnel not gennel, I suspect it was a passage way and it was on the opposite side of the road from where the police station was. I'm sure it was between two houses. Pictured here is the type of passage it was, the one shown is in Atherton and leads to a car park.

Another place in that area was Lord Stevens Square.

Dave was it not spelt stile as in a gate you climb over. If it was opposite the police station there are one or two small ones leading to paths going to Raynor park. Just a thought.

Yes Peter, you were right, seems like it was in between 27 and 29 Castle Hill Road.
