I went in 1961 and then we merged with WGS.

Yep, started same time as Broady, when any one asks 'which school did you go to'?, I still say with great pride 'Tommy Linacre' in Wigan.

I went to WGS in 1966 and we used the Thomas Linacre buildings

"Your'e a cad and a bounder Sir" !!, we used the WGS buildings for some of our lessons and it was like going back in time to 'Billy Bunter' classes.

I was there from 1958- 1963, WGS was a million miles away.

I am almost sure we travelled on the same bus occasionally as from Abram I could use Wigan Corporation or LUT. Long time ago.

He joined the Royal Navy for a while but sadly died in his late 20's...we used to walk to school together

I was a mergee,always preferred Linacre more modern and warm,wgs was as dark and welcoming as a stalag.

A very proud John fisher boy me. Left December 1962 with the most basic of education , but i have done well since.
