Came across this interesting footage showing clips, including Wigan Wallgate and Earlestown station. Looks to have been taken in the late 60s. Never seen this before:

The good old days when trains were trains, when rail fares weren't extortionate, and when you could walk into a train station and you didn't feel intimidated by turnstiles and have CCTV cameras everywhere and the staff weren't acting like Hitler's and had an attitude problem.

remember watching the trains filling up with water by the side of the Queens Arms in Upholland on their way to Liverpool
