Pinfold Square, Ince
Does anyone remember Pinfold Square in Ince? It was just off Manchester Road, almost opposite Jackson Street. The houses always looked very dark and I think they had a couple of steps and railings leading up to their doors. It looked very Dickensian, I can faintly remember running through in the late 1950's to get back home after collecting wood for our 'Bommies'. Never knew why we didn't called them'Bonnies' !

I know where Pinfold Square was but don't ever recall seeing it. Although we said, "bonfire" it always sounded like "bomfire", (try it!), hence "bommie". xx.
