try one of my home recipes aitch
100 gram shrimp
100 gram muscles
tin pink salmon
pack of mash potato.
crush a fish stock cube in a mug, pour boiling water in the cup and stir.
pour over the mash in a dish.
keep whiping the mash and water mixture
blend the shrimp and muscles in the blender
stir in with your mash
good pinch of parsley.
one final stir, cos everything is all mixed together now.
have a frying pan slightly oiled and hot.
scrape in your mixture, into the frying pan
spread the mash all round the pan, and cook till you have a nice brown side.
what ya got...you got home made fish cake, and moreover, you know whats in it.
take the plate to the nearest divan, kick the dog outa the way, now curl up and enjoy.(with a good book, or tv film)

Billy

Your menu Recipe just reminded me of a discription of how to make a cucumber sandwich.

!st
use only the best Organic bread,
slice the cucumber into very thin slices, and diamond shape a radish with a super thin sliver of onion,
prepare some exotic and rare Spices, and cover the whole sandwich,
Cut into Triangle shapes, place on a doiley covered serving plate

2nd
Walk outside
and CHUCK it in the DUSTBIN

Cant eat shrimps billy bad for my heart condition, so they tell me, besides I lost my dog 3 years ago and my suite (divan) to you is white and easily shows stains of all kinds so it only gets used for sleeping on.

The best fish & chips with all the accoutrements and condiments I ever had was at the Savoy, near the Wigan 'bus station in the late '50s.It was so good people would queue up for their lunch,it was always well patronised because the quality was consistent. While I love my seafood, especially lobster(which at present is out my price range),I prepare quite a variety of dishes, international cuisine,Italian,French,Asian and Russian, not to mention traditional English and Australian,in fact I sometimes think my eldest daughter only invites me to go and stay with them up in Newcastle for my cooking, though she does say she loves me.

one things for sure aitch..ya started something here with your original post. whats my fish cake taste like? outa this world, especialy with a blob of ketchup.yeah i am a sea food nut, i guess it dates back from the time i spent sailing outa fleetwood. ironicaly, before this time, fish never passed my lips, couldnt stand it. these days its a regular food fixture in this household.
hey roy, you surprised me,lobster and most crustacean fish here in the UK is very expensive, i wold have thought it would have been cheaper in aussie??occasionaly on these holiday progs, you see the local aussies catching lobster and the like outa the sea, and barbecuing it on the beach whilst they sun bathe?(whatch out fer that salty mate, he,s got his eye on ya.

At present Billy all seafood is in the high price range, lobster $60/kilo,king prawns $30-$40/kilo,scallops $35/kilo,even some fresh fish is in the the $30 range,it's a matter of supply and demand.Lots of the best stuff is exported and then of course there's the Indonesians raiding our fishing grounds. The tourists promos you see are aimed at the wealthy, the average battler like myself,an aged pensioner to boot, would be lucky to afford a couple of prawns never mind a lobster to throw on the barbie. It's funny you should mention Salty because that was my nickname before I left UK and it had nothing to with any connection to the sea.

when was ya last in chorley roy?altered the old place something chronic, especialy around the center.i never had a night out in chorley, cos it died a death after the shops closed. i recall years ago, a guy i sailed with lived in chorley,i arranged to meet him at the bus station for a pup crawl...two virile guys doing the rounds, but to no avail...not a damsel in site untill 9.30 when we got a taxi into preston. plenty of action there compared to chorley.still, for anyone who likes silence and quiet, i would advise a night out in chorley. is this how you found the town roy?

Ive tried Tesco getwom but it doesnt seem to have the same atmposphere as Morrisons, been in Morrisons in Huddersfield and that was just as good as Ince. Asda at Leigh doesnt do any thing for me and as for the unmentionables ,that is Lidl Netto , Aldi those places I wont even go in

Aitch, I don't know how you can make a judgement on Liddle, Netto and Aldi if you don't go in. I go to Aldi quite a bit and I am very satisfied with most of the stuff I have had from there and it is definately cheaper than the bigger supermarkets for most things.

the aldi and lidle i go in hav'nt got eating places but aitch the food they sell is good and a lot cheaper.when in manchester i swop between asda and aldi.here in macc the main supermarkets are sainsburys, tesco and aldi.its surprising how many of the well off people shop in aldi.they are supposed to be building an asda here so we will then have some competation.

Im sorry if I gave the impression that I had never been in those stores, I have and the few brands I could pronunce the names of I didnt like ,there is something about a tin of grey peas that puts me off.Lidl gets some good bargains in other areas but all in all the quality of the food is not my cup of tea.
