I'm a smoker andie, but I wish to gawd I wasn't.
Take her for a ride up to christys.........sounds harsh but its made me think after seeing the ages of some in there.I know my uncle made his son smoke one after the other when he was a teen, he was caught a few times, he made him keep smokin till he was green, he never smoked again.
My days as a smoker are numbered thats for sure.

How is she getting them Andie? Maybe cutting back on any money she receives?

well, I could tell you what my mum tried on me, it worked, but only until I left home. Esther rantzen would have had a field day, believe me

Andie, would reconsider, why put your young girl through that, Emp herself still smokes, so obviously doesnt work ! (Good advice Emp, tut)

How old is she andie? I'm like Empress, I smoke and both my parents did but my mum always said to me that I didn't want to start smoking because I'd never have any money. She's right of course but in this non-smoking society culture of ours these days, why's your daughter smoking? Is it because she thinks it'll keep her weight down/lose weight or what?

Peer Pressure, isnt it obvious ????, good god, you lot put the world too rights in this 'little bubble' of yours, but you dont even know why a young girl would smoke, SAD !

Hmmm, but, do I speak sense? Why would Aunty Emp recommend a course of treatment, even though she still smokes ??? Maybe you all follow the 'leader' too closely

thanks Zoe, Alfie, to you, all that means is peer pressure, ie, "Me mates do it, so should I", not the house of lords making us smoke !!!

i was a smoker up until two years ago stopped because of pressure and guilt from kids. she is 13 and i know i didnt listen at that age and thought i knew better than anyone else thats why i am so concerned we all like to think our own will never do it dont we

i really really hate to say it but .....the suit is right its peer preasure i smoked when i was 12 because everyone else did but i did pack in because i got bored. but i did start again at 18 but packed in fully 3 years ago i would never start again. maybe its just a fase. i did hear tales of mums who would make kids smoke a full box one after the other 'till they where sick and it worked but you would probably get arrested now

Why do you hate to say i'm right Em? Do you hate not being part of the flock/pack ?, do you hate the idea of agreeing with me and being cast out ?

Why not just be you ? I'll admit, I AM abrasive, but only to those who welcome/deserve it ! Now, where is Art (sorry, Alfie)

Sorry to hear your daughters 13, andie and smoking. I was 19 when my mum read me the riot act but I do think it's a lot to do with keeping slim. Thing is, if your meant to be slim you will be, if your going to be chunky you will be. It's life. But government seems to think different.

Andie, as a former cancer sufferer (and that IS the truth), please take my advice, neither your daughter, nor the people who are suffering, appreciate the "This is what'll happen to you" tour. Just sit her down, let her know how much her antics are scaring you to death, keeping you awake at night !. I'm sure she is a sound girl, and a heart-to-heart may just do the trick love

My dad offered me cigarettes from about 12 which I never took but my friends smoked because they wanted to do something daring and grown up.
