won't help, but just invite the ones who are sniping to have another go not just at you but others who don't need the hassle of always deffending themselves.

Peep! Have had me rant now. I wasn't going to bother coming back but, all in all, there's some really nice people on here. I won't apologise for what I said because I meant it, but please, the only reason most of us come on here is because we like to chat. Yes? There've been some darn good topics on here and I love to join in and I can't believe for a moment that anyone comes here to make enemies. Think of it this way. With some of the things that have been said, had they been said with a lot of you all together in a pub, there'd have been either fisticuffs, or some would have been barred out! You're a nice set of people and some of you, like me, are very opinionated. Nowt wrong wi' that, as long as it's kept in context, and well in proportion. I agree with you Molly. There's no harm in a bit of harmless banter, nor a difference of opinion even a bit of sarcasm now and again(I've certainly been guilty of that) but not when it comes to snide personal attacks on people. Some people on here like to dish out the crap but they certainly can't take it.

It's to be hoped I'm not one of those accused of snide and abuse because any remarks I make are done so with good humour,I would never post anything on here I couldn't say to my wife and family.I'm a good natured and friendly fellow,who,as I have said before,enjoys the good humoured banter with people on this site and others,if I didn't I wouldn't bother. To take it a step further,each week I go to a men's respite group for stroke suffers,early dementia suffers and retirees,and I serve it up to them but nobody takes offence because it's all done in good taste and anyway a lot of times it's returned in spades.
So in order to get this site back to what it should be,is for those who are offended to let it be known what and/or who has offended them giving the perpetrator a chance to explain,apologise or retract.By the same token let's remember that most people on this site are adults and as such it should be expected that we behave thus but not lose our sense of humour,consider the saying that one man's meat is a another man's poison,if that can be applied to this situation.
