BB, I have found Vision Express, which twenty or so years back were excellent, have also now really gone off. Lenses not fitting frame, and shifting with movement, screws not tightened etc etc.

When prescription was obviously not right, I had to threaten legal action to get to see the ophthalmologist for a second time after the consultation which generated the prescription.

Four years back, I tried one of the private (ie not big name) opticians. Still dreadful, and now gone out out business.

I wonder why optical services are so bad in UK.

They are excellent in Hong Kong.

Peninsular Optical Services, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon is one I have used. Until fairly recently, the saving made by getting specs in HK was sufficient to cover the air fare, although not the overall cost of the trip.

You won't get any 'Cock-Ups' at Penisular Optical Services!

Thanks for spotting the error tonker. I have edited to correct it. I'll blame it on these bloody British glasses.

I used Specsavers for a few years, then I tried Asda and have now been with them for 12 years, I find them much better than Specsavers.
