Does anyone else think Wiganworld isnt as good as it used to be its such a shame its gone down hill

Yes Winnie,I don't enjoy anything on Communicate any more..not like it
used to be,I just look at P-A-D and Album and that's about it..I and plenty
of others are fed up with the sniping at one another..what must others that
look into these boards think of Wigganers..I just don't want to be part of them.

I don't really know what it was like before only that there were some good posters on from what I have read and they were removed or left for some reason or other so I'm told. How is it worse now if people aren't getting banned or leaving and not posting?

years ago when jay 1 was posting he/she had plenty of posters who used to give him/her tremendous stick.
walshy who still post's under an alias of the fox,wanted on many occasions to see him in the white swan at pemberton.something he vigorously denies doing,both the challenging and being walshy.we with long memories know better.
that is just one instance of the former perfect wigan world.this forum as always had its fair share of clashes between different people and ideologies.
that's life.

It still has a good mainstay of knowable and helpful people that are willing to post interesting and entertaining topics from around Wigan and surrounding areas, In contrast it has the 'back benchers' who post boos and nay nays to every thread in an attempt to spoil the experience of contributing and partaking in social interaction,

Same here momac, I just look in on P-A-D daily and occasionally add a comment.
The members who contribute to P-A-D all power to you, keeps an ex-pat in touch.

Same here Winnie, Momac and Britboy, I look through on here, but it isn't the same. I do go to Downall Greeners on Places, that is where I am from, keeping up with people I knew who are also from there.. P-a-D and Album daily and that's it...

I can only concur with the original poster. Few post on the boards for the same reason, the peurility of the regular culprits.

I do wish the moderators would start to crack down on them, they are destroying a very good site. A site that is open to the public. God knows what their grandchildren of think of the immaturity of their grandparent's petty sniping

WW as had its peaks and troughs over the years and at this time is in a deep trench

So some think it has gone down hill

In the early days it was a collegiate message board. It was respectful,interesting and informative.
Nowadays it is marred by a few whose bitterness and ignorance would be more at home adding comments to a toilet wall in an approved school.

When they got rid of the "nasty uns" bearing in mind that people were being attacked, and even threatened by these lot, it did go quiet but i preferred it that way'

Then a few months ago it started again, and its continuing, for any poster that as there own opinion.

Nobody is going to post on a site were "some people", attack you, get personal and threaten thing, all because you have a different opinion or you stand up for yourself.

With respect to the Wigan-Rejects comment, he certainly will be missed if his new commitments preclude his valued input continuing on here.

So may I ask those complaining about the bickering who are the ones doing the bickering? Names would be helpful to the moderators/owners if they knew who you actually have complaints about. It's not much use if you just complain about them without naming them.

Thank you Tomplum, even though I've only been on WW a relatively short time I do consider myself a worthy contributor, I'm always willing to debate anything with anyone until the use of profanities start being used or being asked to meet people for a fight as has been done on several occasions, with being called a racist thrown in for good measure, which I am not and I don't suffer fools lightly.

I take it then that the site isn't going down hill and very little bickering is or has been happening, the moderators must be satisfied with the way things have been and are or they would have stepped in.

TerryW..... twice you have asked for names of the disruptive posters, quoting it would help moderators/admin. OK I will name whom I consider them to be but only for the ears of admin. That is what the complaint button is for. One poster has identified a certain person in all but name but this method is not the way to deal with this problem.i.m.o.

Anne, that is a good post. Naming the individual will only lead to a barrage of abuse. I will follow your lead and notify the Admin. If everyone affected made a complaint, maybe the problem will be removed.

I still use Wiganworld a lot for my family research but my pet hate about this site is when people ask for help with family trees then dont acknowledge the research you have done fro them ,i dont think people realise how much work is put in too it and i do it for FREE !!!!

I did actually email the admin to complain about being goaded and being named as another person who wasn't on WW any longer. It was suggested I put him on ignore, for this I have been goaded with the name of Tiny Tears or cry baby by him, it doesn't bother me but it just shows the mentality of the person. As you can see he's continually posted on this thread just to goad people.

Well if the people who you have been nasty/personal to went to admin you would have gone a long time ago
