Aren't they going to build apartments for the elderly on the site, McCarthy and Stone the people who build retirement homes were interested in the area.

Thanks Nanajaqui. I very rarely used Chadwick's anyway so it's no loss to me.

I like having my lunch in their restaurant. I’m not sure if that is staying or is part of the new development.

There isn't any other butchers in Standish where You can buy cooked meats etc This could be an opportunity for some one to open one.

Cindy maybe the local supermarkets will take up the slack

Cindy's right I'm sure there's an enterprising butcher out there ready to fill the gap.
The supermarkets are useless.

As a butchers lad in 1961 in the old market hall, I remember hearing about Chadwicks as very good butchers.

Today's standards however are very different from back then, so I wonder if they have lost touch with the shoppers.

find good butchers

The oft times winner of the award for best butcher in the country is close to where I live.

They are good!

They are very good!

But twice as expensive as the alternatives!

How can any business succeed in Standish when there is no where to park, and traffic wise it needs them to finish that Northern M6 link road into Wigan, which they started building in the 1960s when they built the M6
