THESE PAST FEW WEEKS I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE WORLD AT WAR AND LAST NIGHT THEY SHOWED THE LADS IN BURMA, I HAD FRIENDS THERE AND LOST ONE JIMMY KNOWLES FROM GREEN HILL WIGAN WHAT TERRIBLE CONDITIONS THEY SURVIVED IN GOD BLESS ALL OF THEM,OF COURSE WE NEVER SAWW THOSE REPORTS AND NOW IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE THE CONDITIONS HOW THEY SURVIVED GOD KNOWS AND I DONT KNOW IF ANY OF YOU REMEMVER MR ROY HARTLEY A DOCTOR WORKED SOMETIMES AT BILLINGE, HIS FACE WA VERY SCARED OWING I BELIEVE TO DIVING IN WATER IN BURMA TO RESCUE A YOUNG SOULDER AND HE GOT INFECTED ON HIS FACE AND BODY FRON THE WATER
HOW THOSE MEN SURVIVED GOD KNOWS.GOD BLESS ALL WGO SERVED THER. WATCH THE WORLD AT WAR ITS A EYE OPENEF OF ALL ,RACES

hi ELIZABETH the kings own regiment liverpool [chindits]
served in burma there is lot of information on the internet about them in burma also a lot of photos i know a wigan man got the military medal there.they were called the forgotten army all heros

Hi Elizabeth i have recently recieved photographs of a family members grave in Kanchanaburi war cemetery, he died in 1943 whilst building the railway, his mother never recoverd and kept watch for his return untill the day she died, a very sad story

I bought a car from Dr Roy Hartley, It was a white Sunbeam Vouge, It was a lovely car, It had wallnut dashboard & door trims also leather seats, H reg, It had the Hillman Hunter body & were made to go to the Middle East but the order was canceled,
