snow

How many schools has that bit of snow shut down this time around Wigan. we had to go all weather.

I remember school in 1950's: school milk, which we then used to have, frozen solid. Popped its tops and lifted them about an inch or so due to the expansion of ice. All lined up on the school radiators in a vain attempt to thaw it out, it was still frozen solid hours later.

Guidelines from Calgary Board of Education web site. Snow never really becomes a factor unless you live in outlying areas.

When temperatures drop to
-45 C degrees, kids in kindergarten to Grade 3 do not have to go to school. For Grades 4 to 7, the temperature must be -50 C or greater, and for Grades 8 to 12 it must be -55 C

Some schools are very close to each other yet one may be closed and the other/s are still open

We had heavy snow coming down last night so expected to be housebound, but. nothing there, only white was frost.
