What a wonderful Wigan Word. I saw it on a Facebook site for Wigan People. I've never used that word in years.

Thought it was spelt Chauve

I too thought it was Chauve.

I never gave a thought about the spelling. I just like the word. Sames as buggerlugs, havent heard that for a bit either
