Film made in Spring View.

Does anyone recall a film being shot in Spring View? It MAY have been called Inheritance, possibly filmed in the late 1970s? It is NOT the film about Shostakovitch…..that is a different film. Over to you...….

I have just gone back to some old Wigan World comments and apparently it WAS "Inheritance"and was filmed over Ince Moss in 1967. I had asked on behalf of my cousin who remembers going to watch the filming. Thankyou. xx

It is a long time ago and I remember watching it on the TV and I cannot remember what it was about, but they recreated a World War one or two battlefield scene on Ince Moss, with soldiers under bombardment from things which go bang and as I remember it was a crap program

Thanks Tommy. It may have been Inheritance but they also made one called Testimony, about the life of Shostakovitch. I didn't watch either as neither was up my street.....not my thing at all. The query was on behalf of my cousin. Thanks for your input. Irene. xx

I vaguely remember family members speaking of this production with reference to the SpringView sequences portraying the battlefields of the Somme. Doing a bit of googling it appears it was a Granada production in ten episodes. The story being about a Yorkshire family through several generations. All the cast members are listed but no locations listed. Released 1967 which seems about right with my recollections.

Nanajacqui,my Son has done a few Extra parts,I don't think the pay is
much nowadays..it's very good for people who are out of work and live
nearby the studios,my Son was working and could only do the odd couple of days here and there, but as you say he met quite a few of the cast..the
last one being Brenda Blethyn when he was in "Vera"..a series we love.
